Well an easy suggestion was to just log off Twitter a bit. It looks like as of last night she did so...then sent two more replies to trolls for some reason...THEN logged off. As someone here said this week, jerkin' around with assholes on social media isn't really her job. Bernstein doesn't even do that. (Goff does...)

I'd say the real criminal shame is that somebody somewhere thinks she's a "sports columnist" ...

Several of her comments either sound like something Bernstein would say "I think this is helping to embolden people who are attacking victims and embolden people who are attacking journalists. I think it's really unfortunate." or said during his "coverage" of the Penn State scandal "I'm not going to stop talking about it. It's an issue that our entire society needs to be talking about."

I wonder if she referred to herself as a "journalist" or if she just didn't correct them when they incorrectly referred to her as such? Is she ashamed of her actual job as an update person? Writing a blog doesn't make her a legitimate journalist any more than Beardown's little dramas make him a playwright.

I think the thought process for people like her is....if she is making comments (140 characters or less) on current events and people follow her = journalist.

Then we're all journalists and columnists. Hell, the editorial board here rarely takes prisoner's and we all know where on LaSalle street to meet if you don't like it.


I've lost all respect for Julie. She wants to fling mud and is now complaining she got dirty. She creates a bogeyman and now can't effectively hide from it. She thinks comments directed at her (and women in general) are harsher and more strident than at men. Unless she's reading every comment (who honestly would?) then she's just chunking more mud. What women can't/won't go to that level? Go have a good cry somewhere without the 140 characters.

I find it odd, that all of a sudden, B+B are chatting with her like they are all BFFs.

Since the Kane case has apparently fallen apart and Bernstein can no longer exploit the alleged rape victim to further his schtick, he'll use Julie's noble struggle with a handful of mean people on the internet (who may or may not even exist) to continue to paint all hockey fans with the same broad brush.

Julie has proven to be quite the opportunist in the three or so months she has been employed at the station.

If so, they need to give him a hug.

He recently had a tearful appearance on an Indianapolis sports talk show where he disclosed that he is feeling suicidal impulses and needs counseling.

The morning sports show on WEEI/Boston played the interview and ridiculed Doyel's psychological state because the hosts have deemed him an Enemy of the Patriots for spreading misinformation re: Tom Brady/Deflategate.

There was a bit of a DiCaro vibe to the Doyel thing.
