The back-and-forth nature of Wrigley, I'll give you, but I never understood the day game argument. If playing day baseball is so hard, why isn't it harder on the road team?

I've thought the same thing, CH. I suspect it's because it's a road game for the visitors regardless of the time and it's going to be different by definition. Could also be that the Cub teams from the last 100+ years just weren't good enough.

Any job that is physical in nature especially, has to be easier to do if you have the opportunity to do it while working regular hours. Fortunately, the club has more night games now and that day game factor has been minimized. Sleeping different hours can be difficult for many to adjust to and not getting enough sleep can surely have a detrimental effect on performance. I don't believe it was just a lame excuse for not winning more.

It's a once in awhile thing for the road team. The Cubs play a schedule that is different from everone else. It's less so as they add more and more night games, but that's a high price to pay for possibly winning. Another thing that made the Cubs special will be gone. A goddamn shame. Day baseball is the best.

I wish I'd have said that.

I agree, I love day baseball. It's how the game should be played.

Day baseball with the lights on. A buddy of mine was at the game yesterday and posted a picture to facebook. Not a cloud in sky yet all the lights were on. This has seemed to become a trend across all ballparks. I think it's stupid.

You wouldn't if it were the Sock, Dave.

The Sox have to play with the lights on all the time because the sun never shines in Bridgeport. Even Steve thinks it's too dark there.

That's funny.
