The story pappy told was he got his offer 1 morning and if he didnt accept that day they would remove him and they did. The part Mike doesnt mention is they had been talking for months. Zimmerman gave him a final bottom line, last offer. North's ego would never let him take it and the end of the Mike North era came.

I could have sworn he said he would be removed from mornings and be more of a contributer here and there,calling in,filling in,etc.

Not removed from mornings, but YES, used more. Thats the Rod Zimm plan on guys...thats why Leery still has a job. He is on at night when they dont have anything else to run, then he fills in X times for no extra money. Leery is like having a permanent Sub teacher in elementary school

Zimmerman got sick of "negotiating" with him and his people. North didnt think they would ever let him walk....North misjudged his ability, talent and market like Kenny evaluating Brian Anderson!

As I of course have Leary blocked from Tweeting at me, I get to see some of his great thoughts when others retweet them..and I would just have a huge problem with a guy that I employ and provide a huge % / Most of his living talking about everything he is doing in the morning for his other job?

I know they told him he cant talk about it on the air, as he was promiting it way too much....
