Real football players are wired to win.

Fox is trying to build his roster with real football players.

Anybody going out there without the desire to win will be benched then cut.

We sure didn't need another L.

I'm happy with the win just so there's no chance they'll match the 2008 Lions, which I believe was a legitimate fear even just after the first 3 weeks.

Fox got away with one. Way too conservative at end of the game.

I thought he played it just right. Fox knows that Jay will turn it over so take the game out of his hands. Good coaching by Fox.

Fair point. Does show where Fox is with Cutler.

+1

I thought the coaching was excellent today.

How the 1st half ended is what we'll see Fox do from here on out with the Bears: Not field the punt, call a bad play that results in a sack and then let the clock run out when you started almost at mid-field.

Dump Fox & Gase and draft Urban Meyer. I have seen enough to know Fox is too conservative to be an NFL coach for the Bears.

Hoping this is just pot-stirring and blatantly stupid for laughs. Otherwise it's just a terrible thought and you should feel bad for having such opinions.

I don't feel bad for saying the truth. Well now we know Dewskie's football IQ. Zero.

We should have won today by 20 pts. with any passable game plan. Instead, we had 16 pts. at the end of Q3 against the 31st ranking defense. More anemic offense and you defend Fox.

I disagree with the defense of Fox's late game playcalling. Gould's obviously a great kicker but settling for a 50 yard field goal when you have 35 seconds and a timeout left is indefensible. If you're that paranoid about Jay hurting you in that situation you shouldn't be playing him at all.

Either Cutler's arm is shot or Fox doesn't trust him to throw downfield (at least with these receivers). I didn't see a single completion longer than 10-12 yards. The vast majority of his yardage looked to be YAC.

This team going 7-9 would be a testament to the Bears coaching staff and young players stepping up in a big way. If the Bears went 3-13 or whatnot there would be incessant clamoring for Pace, Fox, & co to all be fired for such failures. There's no winning here. The only thing I think fans can agree on is they want to win titles and see the Bears return to respectability, but the divide in HOW is so drastically different that it only creates more tumult.

The Bears turned the ball over 3 times and still found a way to win, but if you were ONLY going to be satisfied with a 20+ point victory you clearly have done no research, have no real sense of where this franchise is in their competitive timeline, and are irrational to the point of delusion. I'm not looking to start shit, but c'mon. The Bears WIN and you're calling for firing? I don't know what to tell you.

Cutler put some quality zip on some passes, however, and yeah - Fox & Gase have good reason not to let Cutler put balls into a high-risk situation since his history tells an obvious story. If he had a higher %-age target in Alshon or even White to throw to, sure you could take a few more chances. The Raiders have been incredibly bad in TE coverage all season, so they used one of the best in the game in Bennett to great effect. Why try to flex the risky vertical muscles with a gimpy turnover-prone QB and underbelly of your WR corps?

Really? The Bears offense was shit against the 31st ranking defense. Why should I be satisfied with that performance, when any coach worth his salt would have put 40 pts. plus on the Raiders today.

We were lucky to have won, because the Raiders coaching was worse in letting Jay pass to the sidelines on the last drive. We certainly didn't win because of coaching today, more like in spite of bad coaching.

Cutler has never thrown a good deep ball.

Who is the deep threat?
Alshon?
White?

Try to at least realize what is happening here

That's what I've found to be most surprising about him. His much touted arm strength mostly applies to velocity on passes. He is not particularly accurate on deep passes and I can't remember him ever throwing it 60 yards in the air. He can put zip on his passes, but it's only relative to shorter distance passes.

No, he's correct. The Bears fanbase is the worst about extrapolating meaning from a meaningless win. The Bears still suck. Every win only delays turning over the entire roster.

I have two takeaways from yesterday's game:

1) Martellus Bennett is a fucking beast. I love this guy.

2) What the fuck is with all the referee fuckups against the Bears this year? Seriously, that hands-to-the-face call? What the fuck was that? It's not like it was even close. It's not even like the receiver tried to sell a fake hands to the face. They just called that for no reason whatsoever. And then they claimed that Royal spiked the ball! Why would they call that? I cannot imagine what the hell they were thinking in either of those cases. It's beyond bad, it's inexplicable. Thing is, I really don't care, because I'd somewhat rather the Bears just lose games, but it's still infuriating to see how incompetent these refs are.

They're running the John Shoop offense thirteen years later. The McCaskeys and Bears never learn, going back to things that did not work the first time.
