Can you just eat at Westmoreland? The food there is pretty good.

I think this place is restricted, Wang. I might stand at the gate to see if somebody will adopt me or my kids. :)

We will be at centennial park.

All Big Fan Yute romping grounds.

Worked at Westmoreland...Yes, a Looper! Like the Murray brothers...skated, swam, etc at Centential.

You got a Bakers Square at Old Glenview rd and Skokie Blvd. leaving you the 1 minute drive to Cent...or when you get off at Old Orchard you got California Pizza kitchen. Also a BW3 in Old Orchard.

EJ's is slightly upscale, kids can eat there, but Kinda pricey.

OR

Get off at Lake St. , turn right before Skokie Blvd and you have Irvings Hot Dogs! mmmmmm...Another former Employer of mine!

there is nothing worse than bw3.

We checked out houses on the internet tonight. My kids couldn't believe some of it. Some we made fun of, some we wanted to live in. It was kinda fun.

Lived in a number of those houses in Wilmette. Literally moved 5 times. Centenial is on Ridge Road. Kind of your mid poinit between E and W Wilmette.

The closer you go to the expressway, the houses get smaller and closer, vintage 60's tract building. Go to the lake, you find 100 year old stuff.

Plenty of them being torn down and new Bigger houses being built.

As an example of the 60's stuff next to the new stuff.

Disagree. I can get an omelette, or club/blt, or cobb salad at BS. And I do like their pie. Everything but the Garden crasher at BW3 is brutal. Maybe chips and salsa.

Well, the beer and the TVs ain't bad.

I've never been to a Bakers Square that didn't feel like I was eating in the waiting room of a funeral home. Or hospital.
Cold, sterile, old, pastels. :puker:

Probably something to do w/ the Mafia. People w/ that much money don't move that much unless they're on the run.

BTW, I don't know this lice story. I'd like to read it.

That thing on the right is a fucking monstrosity. But I guess people like that.

Here's one some friends and I built right off the lake in Winnetka:

I think it's tasteful and fits the character of the neighborhood, but obviously that isn't a commercial viewpoint because we took a bath selling the motherfucker. I had one guy say to me, "If I'm spending $3 million on a house, I want everyone to know I spent $3 million."

Go to the Bagel at Old Orchard. Solid, kid friendly and about 100x better than Bakers Square.

Other options include Portillos, Pita Inn, Ruby of Siam.

The $4 million properties weren't good enough so you went for the $9 million piece? Expensive tastes, Spaulding!

Gotta love when somebody asks for recommendations and one of the first serious replies calls for California Pizza Kitchen, Bakers Square, and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Hey, I never suggested CPK or Baker's Square. I said Cheesecake factory which is just as bad but I was kidding (unless that's where she wants to go, in which case, I was being serious). I haven't been to that area in 15 years and I'm assuming the cheesecake factory is still there. People love overpriced mediocre food as long as it ends with overpriced cheesecake.

My old stomping grounds too. Grew up in Evanston and caddied at Westmoreland one summer until I busted my collarbone.

For kid-friendly try Hackney's on Harms. Just a little west down OO road. http://hackneys.net/location/harms/
