In true Bernstein-like fashion the word on the street is that Taj. was the guy to take Rose out. The word on the street is also that it was intentional. The old elbow to the face as Rose attempts to attack the basket.

In other news Butler and Rose really don't care for one another. They pooh- pooh it for the media, but the friction is legit.

If it was Taj, I'd send his ass to Charlotte & hope he gets lost in the part of the Carolinas that are currently underwater, or some armpit like Utah. He's been a petulant, butt hurt whiny baby that hasn't produced for two years now. Change!

No. He had a bad season last year because of injuries. I can't say that I am upset about it. Taj has always been a professional and team first guy. That being said he probably peaked in the 2013-14 season.

If it went down like it was suggested it was a dirty play. Rose shouldn't have been discussing his not so impending free agency though. I'm sure that didn't sit too well with the guys that have covered for him publically over the years. Not only that, these guys have played injured while talked about not playing until he was 100%. Lastly, his teammates more than anyone, were in more of a position to ascertain whether or not he was able to go. They were there for the rehabilitation process. They were there when the doctors cleared him and he was able to practice, yet sit out games. Its a tough call on this one.

I'm with you on the trade Taj front. That is well established around these parts

If a guy that has abandoned or quit on his team for 3 years is talking about free agency in 2 years instead of a championship I don't have a problem with someone taking a shot at him. Especially a guy that has played with more injuries than anyone with the exception of probably Noah. Fuck Rose!

I couldn't have imagined a more complete way for Rose to screw himself & his teammates in the process. His ass out stupidity has finally erased the memory of the HS kid who was the grittiest team-first guy I remember.

I love Taj and Noah but realize both are probably done. They played the game the right way and left it all on the court.

That is the thing that is the biggest disappointment to me. He seemed to be such a team first guy, and yet something or a multitude of things sure changed him.

Injuries happen. But the way he has changed throughout the process has been a huge letdown.

I'm holding hope that Noah is not done. I think you're right on that. I don't want Taj to be done. Bulls have to be able to get something for him in a trade. A done Taj nets you Nazr Mohammed in a salary dump.

I give guys all kinds of credit for playing hurt, and reasonably going out for injuries. Taj I really did like, alot. But I hate guys (under nice contracts) who bitch & whine about playing time/numbers/roles on winning teams. These two have done just that imo and their constant posturing & their public pronouncements are enough.

You know what I have thought about this a little. I don't know how much of a team guy that he actually was, even then. I should rephrase that. He was a team guy, but probably in the way that Lebron is a team guy.

If you look at his high school and college teams, Rose was decidedly the star on those teams. High school is understandable, because its rare to have two potential first round draft picks on the same team. College is different. He didn't choose one of the college powerhouse teams to play for. He chose Memphis, which had Douglas-Roberts and old ass Joey Dorsey. They were marginal NBA guys at best.

You also had shady ass Calipari and big bag of money, but you can get that anywhere. They set his brother up with a cushy Fed Ex job also. You can get that anywhere.

I think that he chose Memphis in order to get the same setup that he had at Simeon. Rose surrounded by a bunch of Role players. He has won in both places doing that. He also was able to win in the NBA on a team where he was the unquestioned star.

This is the first time ever that Rose as the alpha male on a team has ever been in question. When he made the statement regarding "why not him" it was as much one of confidence as it was ego. Most people focused on the confidence part but his ego was at play also. When people harped on his reluctance to recruit free agents that was his ego also.

I think Rose has always had an ego and probably been arrogant, but has never really had to show it until now. Unfortunately it is on display at a time when the whole city is against him, which is the worst possible time.

All of his high school teammates were college flameouts. Tim Flowers left UWM after his first semester or first yr. Kevin Johnson was imprisoned after leaving Simeon. Bryant Orange bust out. the kid Keon that backed up Rose, was a kid my guy recruited to I-State, were all busts. They were all low level division 1 players that really were probably Division 2 when you think about it. The kid that was better than all of them was a guy that Robert Smith never played. Lazerus Jones is a kid that never got off the bench at Simeon, but ended up playing at UCLA. He has been in numerous NBA camps, including the Bulls last yr. He never got off the bench in four yrs. He is a point guard and maybe Rose didn't want that kid to play and thus he didn't play for all we know. Maybe he was threatened by that kid.

Playing on state championship teams and for traditional powers sort of inflates a kid's talent. Rose was the only can't miss guy, let alone high major of the group and everyone knew it. What made their team special was that none of them challenged the supremacy of Rose. Tim Flowers who was his best friend and also personal bodyguard on the floor, actually relished in his second fiddle status. He still does and that's part of the reason that Rose has had a few off the court issues.

Memphis has been good to great pretty much since Keith Lee was dripping Jerri Curl on his opponents. The same goes for Calipari teams.

I think it all stems from Derrick possessing no leadership qualities while holding a position on the team/in the league that demands he be the team leader. He defers to "the older brother" in whatever form it is presented to him. It hurts him to know he isn't what he is expected to be so he lashes out. Except he lashes out in his typically emotionally stunted manner.

In fairness to Rose I have absolutely no issue with him wanting to be the best player on a championship team. It takes a lot of confidence to want to be that guy. In the end actually winning matters most. That's why you call Marshmelo and others.

The only time they have been great was the Derrick Rose yr. Maybe Penny Hardaway yrs. They have had a number of down yrs after Keith Lee.
