D Rose is like a politician right now, everyone is the home state knows what an idiot he is, but the world still likes him.

And I am sure someone will argue this with me, even though its not my theory, Rose has a bit of an asian look and thus he is #2 (I think) in China in shoe sales. You can argue the look, but it sure isnt his play that makes him a celeb in China, so it must be something, although ADIDAS did a nice job of promoting him. D Rose is almost an actor at this point...who can be a good bBall player.

We will wait to see if he can be "GREAT" as he still says he is.

I would like him to be great again so they can trade him next year.

Rose is still a great player at his position when he plays (that's the caveat)... and the alternative to Rose is much worse. The issue with people who BS about sports all day is we live in what have you done for me lately society. At the beginning of the MLB season people were calling for Starlin Castro to be traded as his numbers were down and now he is looking like a world beater and no one is saying anything about replacing or releasing the guy. It seems like we all are Monday morning quarterbacks but sports and any job in general doesn't work that way (maybe in the NFL is does ).

Rose is still a marketable player because when he plays he puts up great numbers at his position. If the teams had the Mike North talking points about their players there would not be anyone left on any team!

I disagree. Let's talk numbers........his FG % was just 40.5% last season. His assist to turnover ratio is amongst the worst in the league for a starting point guard. He had just 251 assists to 161 turnovers. Not even a 2/1 ratio. Chris Paul has a 4.41 assist to turnover ratio. Jimmy Butler had 212 assists and just 93 turnovers, good for a 2.28 assist to turnover ratio. Good point guards like John Wall and Chris Paul, average 10 assists per game. Rose was less than 5 per game. 3 point shooting was supposed to really improve after Rose's time off as he worked on it a lot. He shot just 28% from the 3 point line. Also, he had just 36 steals. His defense is plain lousy. It never was a strength, but it is much worse now. You can fool yourself if you want to, into believing Rose is an elite player still. He is not. He is an undersized shooting guard, who doesn't shoot that well and plays awful defense.

Fact is he won mvp as the youngest player ever and lebron didnt have a bad year that year.... Rose didnt put up record numbers but he WAS unguardable. The window for greatness isnt closed even if its only cracked open at this point. We will never see "that guy" again, but we might easily get a guy who can produce more because he should play a lot smarter. He needs to make more shots tho.

You are correct that one does not necessarily have a lot to do with the other. But as a point guard, you guard the guy bringing up the ball and get a lot of opportunity to steal the ball either off the dribble (Gary Payton was so good at this) as well as off passes. He can't (or won't bother to try to) keep in front of the guy he's defending, much less steal the ball. Even before his injuries, he played lousy defense. It was why Vinny DelNegro benched him late in some games. Fans were furious that he benched their best offensive player in a crucial point in the game like that. I applauded it, as I understood it was because he was playing lazy on defense and the coach was sending a message. I am looking forward to Rose moving on. I hope the Bulls don't even consider signing him to an extension. Doesn't shoot well, plays lousy defense and has a horrible assist to turnover ratio.....let him go.

Definitely. If anybody thinks this cat is going to finish two full healthy seasons with Da Boo, they are nuts. He will not go another season without a major injury and/or surgery. I sincerely wish him and the Bulls luck but I am not optimistic.
