I didn't catch the game..Why would Price come in as relief when Dickey was cruising? Dickey: 4 1\3 and one run. The Jays had a big lead.

I think the Stros win game 5.. Better bats and neither has starting pitching.

What a pussy, he's got great career numbers against Harvey and Howies' numbers suck against him.

Also, we had a kid pitch us last night for the Illiinois Indians that is supposedly going to Arizona St. as a pitcher. Could have fooled me, looked like he was throwing 88-90 with a crazy slider and beat us 6-1.

Sam Ferri. He was really good in Iowa too. He's also a catcher but he's not real physical. It will be interesting to see what he looks like and where he fits in 3 years. Was the game in Kenosha?

Yes at Carthage, and I don't know his name. We played Hitters and I have not seen of course all of the pitchers, but that kid was the goods. Not a starter, in time, as he had 2 pitches. But those 2 pitches are awfully good at that age. He was number 25, 26 wa the catcher and they brought in 24 to close it out. That kid is Huge and looks awesome in the left handed box. My son pitched it and made it thru 5 1/3.

Tell Lil Hawg I said great job! That's a tough lineup to go thru.

I'm sure it was Ferri. That slider is nasty. The big lefty was probably Jack Suwinski. He's going to Indiana. He can swing it a little and he can really throw.

BA wrote a good article about Gav. I'll send it to you.

Thanks and I will, he wasn't himself last night as I think he was in awe. Pitching in the Championship game against that lineup. He doesn't come close to the other guys in the way they throw with velocity, but he can normally locate and has a great change up. Left a few pitches up, but walks hurt him more than anything. I really appreciate the comment and will most definitely pass that along.

Sorry, I meant he was going there as a catcher. What has he been clocked at, just curious to see how much I am off. His slider looked to be slower 80's also.

They got Grichuk in the David Freese trade with the Angels.

And he was a first round draft pick...

So the Jays traded for Price to make unnecessary relief appearances. Ok.

There is nothing at all I understand about that, maybe if it was a 1 run game or a 2 run game, I could. Or it could be what I heard on MLB Network last night, he doesn't trust him to pitch Game 5 so the easiest thing to do was throw him yesterday and take that out of the equation.

I don't get it either. Makes absolutely no sense. I don't know if Price will be available to throw at all in game 5 after going 3 innings yesterday. The Jays are putting an awful lot of trust in Marcus Stroman and he's on short rest.

Edit- Stroman will be on normal rest. Still a very questionable move.

Price said he would be ready to pitch, the manager said he would not use him. I will say this, if it does not work out for Gibbons his job is going to be called into question.

I hate that the SkyDome has to be closed for playoff games per league mandate. They get a day game and it looks like a fuckin' cave in there with the roof closed. Awful stadium.

I just can't believe they lost this much confidence in Price. How does Gibbons handle it if they win? Does he start Price in game 1 or do they go with Estrada? He created a very weird situation for himself.

What did John Gibbons do in his first run with the Blue Jays that they said "yeah, we gotta bring him back"?

man price was aggressively shit in game 1. he staked texas a 2-0 lead, toronto fought back to make it 2-1 and then he quickly made it 4-1 texas. then toronto fought back to make it 4-3 (stranding the tying run at third) and price turned around and made it 5-3 quickly thereafter.

stroman started off shit but looked good for awhile so if they're going back to him over price i can see why.... if price could have buckled down and put up some zeroes for a few innings toronto prolly could have overtaken texas, but every time they took a step forward it was two steps back like the giant head of paula abdul is rising up over skydome, but it's closed so nobody could see it =/

They're supposed to be kicking the Argonauts (who? exactly) out and converting to a permanent grass surface, which will help a little, but that doesn't address the fact that the roof makes it look like a fallout shelter. I wish they could just cover the seats and do a retractable fabric roof over the field. Might as well invest in the place, it's only about 25 years old and Rogers bought it for couch change, so I doubt they're getting a new one any time soon.
