I don't understand the pessimism on the Bears by Vegas. They're 2-3 and looking at 0-5 Detroit on Sunday, yet getting these kind of odds? The schedule only gets easier from here. Even Hub says the Bears are on the up and up. Getting Bushrod and Jeffrey back this week will help.

If they have any chance of being a wild-card, which I think they do, their odds should not be less or worse than 30-1. Who knows, maybe we even see Kevin White by the end of the year? Then the Bears will be stacked on offense with a defense that's getting better each week.

2-3...lol

If they dont take out Charles, they lose that game as well.

Full credit to J Fox and staff, they are maximizing the output of what they are working with. control the ball, dont turn it over, solid defense.

You are going to have a chance to win games that way, like last week, but you arent a real contender.

But the coaches job is to win.

The Bears are playing like the 2nd best team in the NFC North. I think we beat the Vikings and Lions both times, setting up an exciting rematch in Lambeau in late November. Maybe momentum doesn't work in hockey, but there is something to be said for it in football; and the Bears are presently on a roll, feeling good about themselves. Most importantly, Cutler looks more comfortable and in command. I like what they're doing with him in the semi hurry-up offense at the line. Cutler is better when he does not have time to think, evidenced by his 4th quarter heroics against the Chiefs.

The Bears are undervalued and deserving of a play. Maybe Cubs fever spills over to the Bears and they surprise, too!

Who thought Mind that Bird would win at 50-1, and you're getting 250-1 on the Bears? Does seem all that crazy to me.

Two last second wins against awful teams, and you are thinking Super Bowl? This is worse than your Fouts > Brady thoughts.

But they're improving every week, which you're not considering. It's doesn't matter where they are now, rather where they will be eleven weeks from now. As much as you scoff at their two wins, there's no denying the Bears upward trajectory. Strictly from an odds point of view, the Bears are cheap at 250-1. If they get in the playoffs, anything can happen from there, like the Bears putting your Brady to shame.

And I'll bet you never saw Fouts play. I did. He was a sensation.

I have considered it. The Packers at 5-0, and I see that it isn't happening. By all means, bet the house on the Bears.

Packers are beatable by the Bears, as the first game showed. The Bears would be even tougher for them now.

For someone who hit the superfecta on the Belmont and the tri-fecta on the Derby, I think you might be right.

I saw Fouts at the end of his career. You are the only person in the history of the world, who thinks he is/was better than Brady.

Then you didn't really see him. Was Muhammad Ali still great when he fought Larry Holmes?

As already discussed, Bill Walsh, John Madden, Joe Gibbs, Don Coryell and Kevin Winslow would all disagree with you.

Fouts was physically more gifted and mentally tougher than Brady.

Fouts also played in probably the greatest NFL game ever played, the "Epic in Miami" in 1982, and he won.

I knew after I wrote it something was wrong. Sure can't let anything slip here on CSFMB, but I think you knew who I meant.

Who else is named Kellen anyway? Sounds Irish, yet Winslow is black.

Why does it bother you that I think Fouts is great? Did he refuse an autograph for you or something? You've become quite mental about it. It's not healthy for you to be hung up on things you don't understand.

Theres a difference between being mental about someone and thinking it's silly to say he's better than arguably the best QB of our generation.

I never said that Brady wasn't the best QB of the current generation. But if I had to chose to between the two, I would take Fouts for reasons already stated. There is a reason Fouts is in the HOF, despite his team never winning a Superbowl. He and Coryell ushered in the modern passing era, with Fouts being the original Gunslinger before Favre. And his passing record of 320 Yds/G stood for 30 years. On top of that, he is still in the booth broadcasting. So what are you all crying about? Let me have my opinion, and you can have yours. But don't tell me that Fouts is not better, when you never saw him play in his prime, like Chus. Everyone in the early 80s was a Chargers Fan. Pittmike will tell you.

But this is a thread to discuss odds of the Bears winning the Superbowl. I cannot help you for being mental about Dan Fouts. He is what he is---the most physically gifted, smartest and most competitive QB ever to play the game. And he did it all as a drop back passer, arguably harder than out of the shotgun like Brady.

This is just meaningless fluff.

And Brady is doing it against defenses with linebackers who can run as fast as running backs.

And please stop telling us what some former coaches and players say about Fouts. Jack Nicklaus still says that Tiger Woods will win five more majors.

Brady is better than Fouts in every statistical category, including the most important, wins.
