The Stone Pony.

Is he rooting for the Cub or hoping for a spectacular failing in October? It's almost impossible to believe he would be indifferent right?

If he is on the band-wagon, do us Cub fans accept him and are the Sox fans okay with his Cub support? For that matter, have the Sox fans ever truly embraced Stone into the family and does Cubdom still hold contempt for him?

Bring him back I say. But I'm also so happy right now that I wouldn't mind Kent Mercker or Mel Rojas attending a playoff game. So it's safe to say that I might not be thinking clearly these days.

spada no longer advertises on the score anymore, and the cubs are on CBS airwaves right now with a no-brainer move to the score likely in the offing once they get the last remants of white sox crap off of the air (the announcement prolly comes in jan/feb after the sox divorce has had a little time) ---- so yeah, seeing as spada has a considerable following and countless personalities and listeners like me in his pocket, and of course the secondary thing of stoney technically cashing checks from reinsdorf, you know he's with the sox on this one saying FUCK THE CUBS!!!!!! til the day he dies. never underestimate the spada factor here, cuz seriously in the next month WMVP will overtake WSCR in the ratings.... the score will pay the price.... book it! #SpadaBump

seriously double M, idk if you have an ex-wife or something..... but if she went on and married a millionaire or elon musk or something would you be cheering her on as she becomes a celebrity in her own right getting vanity fair covers and whatnot.... or would you be saying "FUCK THAT BITCH I HOPE THEY BOTCH HER BOTOX" ??? --- search your feelings you know they be true!

also, count zizou as IN for someone who has seen stoney's magnanimous playgirl spread. WOULD.

If Stone sits with Mercker. All is well.

Kinda sad, he had to leave an organization that was a mess, so he could criticize them for not doing things "The right way" now he is in the thick of the shitter with those guys and he cant say OR do anything about it. He just has to keep making up those little carefully worded drop ins when interviewed.

the saddest thing about the 2004 season (and i'm with spmack that 2004 was more disappointing than 2003) was that after the reds series debacle the cubs still technically had a chance to make the playoffs heading into that final weekend series with the braves.........but of course b4 that huge series started @ 1:20/2:20pm (cuz i think 2004 was the year where they had those goofy 2:20 starts on fridays.... right?) instead of preparing for the braves and studying tape/stats/etc and overlooking his squad, dustball had to go have an emergency friday AM meeting to figure out what was gonna happen with "the steve stone problem" --- dusty likely pulled some "IT'S HIM OR ME!!!!" crap and was all about that meta bullshit instead of focusing on GETTING IN THE DAMN PLAYOFFS, and of course the 2004 cubs didnt make the playoffs...... which was even more tragic than 2003 because an overall better team didnt even make it far enough to have a cubbie occurrence take it all away.... c'est la vie.

but hey, dusty is now doing a national gig with TBS and steve stone hate-works with hawk, so who won that one?

i'm thinking yeah. mercker and stone just have to learn how to ride in elevators together..... maybe laurence could oversee this intervention because he has a lot of experience in the field of elevator-rage that could help out mercker.

"What job has he had in baseball besides talking on television or radio?" "What has he done? Why isn't he a farm director and bring some kids around? Why isn't he a general manager? Why hasn't he ever put the uniform on and been a pitching coach? Why hasn't he been a field manager? There's 30 teams out there that could use a guy's expertise like that, you know?

I think he was considered to be a GM or President of the Orioles. Why I do not know really.

I think he probably wants it for the fans and almost no one is left from his departure so he probably has nothing to beef with Current Mgmt about.

Id welcome him back for sure. I never stopped liking him.

If IT happens, then all past Cub sins will be forgiven in my book.

I won't be angry anymore that "We came in second" when Randy Johnson and then Mike Piazza were on the trading block.
