that's awesome.... was he denying it to people around him or to the store?

To the person he was writing the check to. I think his family hails from some bum-ass Prairie town, wouldn't surprise me if he didn't realize how checks worked.

I think it's great. It's good to use that perspective on power plays so you can get a better view of how lanes are opening and closing. Canucks games use a lot of aerial cameras and I think it looks terrific.

Sorry disagree. I want it closer in.

I agree with Pitt, that PP camera angle was awful. If I wanted a view from the top of the 300 level I'd just go to the game and sit in those shitty seats.

On my 70 incher it was tough to see the puck and the angle made it impossible to tell if shots were on net or off.

Seriously, anyone want to tell me how Ryan Garbutt is more deserving of a roster spot than Daniel Paille? I would like to know. Seriously, is Paille missing a limb? Because I see one guy in his early thirties who has contributed to numerous contending teams over many years versus another guy in his early thirties rounding out a wild card/lottery team for a few years. And even if Paille is finished, why not play a kid?

Garbutt has been solid so far this year in his role. the high sticking penalty in the first was unfortunate, but other than that he's done a fine job filling his role.

60 inches here and I had no trouble following the play. If anything was a distraction, it was the minute camera movements that from that angle and elevation can get a little nauseous. If you want to do the overhead, which has its merits, you pretty much have to keep it damn near still.

Agreed on Garbutt, not sure what he does that relates to hockey.

If Svedberg is trying to stick as your 6th, it might be okay. He's going to get exposed post haste skating top 4 minutes.

He's getting exposed on third-pair minutes. He just seems too lanky and unwieldy. Plays too soft for his giant frame. We're in some real trouble if Daley can't play, Rundblad can't play, Svedberg can't play, and no one else is ready. Sounds like Stan is looking for a defenseman already, though.

I don't think Daley has been bad though. I haven't really noticed him, and for now I'm okay with that.

Did you watch the Ranger game? The whole first period of that game was just Trevor Daley pissing all over himself. Maybe there's still hope for him, but remember that he and Marian Hossa are the only two players on the active roster whose games were at one time televised by ESPN. I think he is who he is.

Maybe. Could have been age, first game of the season, whatever. I don't think in the last few games he's been bad. How's about you give it a bit to see what he really is now? He might suck but I don't think you need to declare it after 4 games. We got 78 games to go. There is plenty of time for you to complain about...everybody. Let's start slow and build to it, that's all I'm saying.

Can I declare it after 760 games? I mean, I'm sure that he'll adjust to the system in time the way Oduya did (man, did people hate him at first), but we're dealing with a very known quantity here. Past his 200-game mark, he's been a top-4 defenseman but on largely sub-mediocre teams. He's a lesser Brian Campbell.

If he is Oduya I'll be right with ya. I couldn't stand him. They need to put somebody other than 4 players out there and this is what we have for now. Maybe it will be a good thing if he replaces Oduya, maybe that's what they need. I don't like Runblad and have no idea what Svedberg will be yet. How much is Daley costing?

I guess my point is, you think pretty much everybody sucks.

Daley's cap hit is $3.3MM. Johnny Oduya's is $3.75MM. A salary gap so small against a talent gap so large kind of makes you wish we could have kept Oduya for the sake of continuity, but he probably wanted more years than we could have offered. He's in his age-34 season, and I wouldn't want him clogging our roster at 35 and beyond.

I don't think everybody sucks. I think this roster has the potential to be very, very good. It just needs a bit of sorting out in addition to praying that Daley fits in.

What if he's better than Oduya?

Who do you like besides Keith?

Hossa, Kane, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, Panarin, Teravainen, Tikhonov, Kruger, Shaw when used correctly, van Riemsdyk when used correctly, Crawford, Darling, Toews when he doesn't have eleven-game point droughts.
