If you are in possession of the ball and break the plane, the play stops and is ruled a touchdown. What happens afterward doesn't matter. The guy had already made the catch prior to breaking the plane.

Then Calvin Johnson ad Dez bryant had touchdowns yet those were ruled incomplete.

The problem is there is no consistency with this rule.

The difference between this and the Calvin Johnson play was that Johnson caught the ball in the end zone but did not complete the process of the catch.
