On today’s show, the boys will discuss the Cubs abysmal appearance in New York over the weekend, and what it means for the future of the Cubs franchise. I think even the most loyal Theo supporters had to be disturbed at the direction of the franchise after this weekend. On a side note, with the terrorism NYC has experienced in the past, it was good to see the Mets win a few games to help heal that city.

Also, the Bears will be discussed with Matt Bowen and, if he gets his talking points from Halas Hall in time, Zach Zaidman.

Bernstein has said in the past that the playoffs are pretty much just random.

That did go away when the Cubs looked to be unstoppable though, but I'm guessing the "clutch factor" of Rizzo won't be brought up either.

There's some cognitive dissonance there though. If the playoffs are really random, they have to be wrong. Their chances this year are as good as their chances will be in any future year(s). Although, I suppose their spin will be that making the playoffs is fait accompli every year for the forseeable future thus leading to the "bites at the apple" bullshit.

The only call that would carry some weight would be to point out the Mets building with pitching then offense. Doubt they have a good response for that. Other than playoff randomness.
