Purdue announced a $60 million non-stadium facilities upgrade today. You guys don't care.

However, you may find this interesting. It is what an outside firm did to compare the facilities.

Maryland has half red half green on everything... how is that even possible?

So Notre Dame's facilities suck, that is what I take away from it.

I'm trying to figure that out. The Red/Green thing is confusing, but I think it is assumed that it represents improvements to some but not all of the category.

Elmhurst Steve would have gotten two green circles for the second line item.

Also, and I know that no one really cares, but the President, Athletic Director, and BOT President was at this announcement.

The coach was not...

HE GONE.

Iowa just redid their facility and the general consensus among recruits and those involved with the program is how it is helping. The best example they use is that players can go to the center, have time to do homework, watch film, eat, lift, practice and get more homework done without leaving the facility. Before the practice facility was one building, weightlifting somewhere else and eating was in the dorms.

Pretty tough to understand without knowing what the split circles mean.
Why are they all split red/green and not with any yellow in them?

Disagree about the "wow" factor with ND's stadium. That's one of the things it has going for it. They are also undergoing a massive renovation.

From what I gather, it means that it is a combination of old outdated and new and cool things.

Like at Minnesota how they have an awesome new stadium and probably some pretty terrible surroundings of it since it's in the middle of a city. I've never been to it though so I'm guessing.

The stadium is not impressive besides the Notre Dame name. If you built that exact same stadium at Purdue it wouldn't be impressive. It is the history and the religious things on campus that make Notre Dame different.

Ok. This makes sense.

A red/green dot means current is bad but a facilities upgrade is in process.

So Northwestern and Maryland have crap facilities all around, but are in the process of making everything great?

I'm guessing they aren't judging the quality of it, just that it is happening.

Are they only redoing one of the Purdue coaches offices?

Not sure if you are joking or not, but it will be a new building for everything having to do with the football team outside of the practice fields which were already redone in the past few years.

 They are probably saving the coaches offices to let the next guy pick the carpet and the drapes.

I've always thought the ND facilities are not branded enough. You rarely ever see the ND when on the campus,.

I also think Notre Dame is a great stadium experience, but I don't believe the "Wow Entry" category is for the stadium, but rather for walking into the training facilities.

Upgrading facilities in College sports in an attempt to reslolve an issue, like years of poor recruiting, takes years to impact the situation.

the best schools, like business, are proactive in making these changes and improvements. Then there is DePaul, which is like starting over at this point.

Yup...and one of the most uncomfortable. End zone seats are literally a 2x8 piece of wood & you get about 12 inches in width. Terrible.

Not in the hockey facilities. It's all over the place but I think it's new.

I was being sarcastic. The ND is everywhere
