GAYS UNITE!

Now that my Cubs are dead I can focus all of my attention on my main love, the Hawks.

They kinda suck so far and the last thing this year's team could afford was one of our top dmen missing extended periods of time. With Keith gone you are now stuck with Svenberg on the top line with Seabrook. Gross.

Need to take two points tonight because they have Tampa next and I just don't see them winning that game. Florida isn't a punching bag anymore though. They have some nice talent and should contend for a playoff spot this year.

Offense gets it going and pulls out a 5-4 win in OT.

Go fucking figure that Dale Tallon spends five years hoarding high draft picks and the one move that finally puts the Panthers in championship contention (albeit as a very dark horse) in the year 2015 is scraping Jaromir Jagr off the Devils.

The Panthers this year remind me of the Jets last year, where they seem to be rounding the corner into a long period of contention until you look closer and realize the guys who are really driving that contention aren't going to be at the top of their game or even around much longer. For Winnipeg it was Byfuglien, Ladd, and Wheeler, here it's Jagr and Luongo (and I suppose Brian Campbell, too). I mean, they have a ton of talent on the roster, but everything they did last year was fueled by Luongo's resurgence, which isn't going to last, and for all the talent in their pipeline, I'm pretty sure they're desperately weak in goal now that the great Jacob Markstrom turned out to be a big wet fart. They'll make the playoffs this year but probably won't go far; the top of the East is too much better.

I expect an uber-conservative gameplan not unlike the one they busted out on the Panthers the game after one of their douchebags injured Kane. Hawks win but not without goals from Jagr and Pirri.

I'll be there tonight in the 200 level with a few of my Jewlympic teammates. Disappointed Keith won't be playing, but excited to see Panarin in person for the first time.

I believe the Swedish ball of flailing limbs (now available at an IKEA near you) will be slotting in with Seabrook. If Daley and Rundblad are together, God help us all.

They'd only get minimal cap relief from unloading him because poor teams took away the rule where loaning a guy took the whole hit off the books. In a related story, the long-since-retired Marc Savard is technically a member of the Florida Panthers so that they can reach the salary floor.

1-1 early. Anisimov for the Hawks, Pirri for Florida 39 seconds later. Daley is bad.

Can Pokka and his extreme inexperience be worse at this point than Daley and his extensive and extremely awful experience? I can not believe I am eagerly awaiting Rozsi's return to the lineup.

We're gonna need to bring Lubomir Visnovsky back in, aren't we. Good gravy is Trevor Daley ever bad.

Watched the last period online.

THe Florida announcers were ripping the Panthers for their awful play and all the penalties.

They gave the first goal to Pirri, right? I finally got a prediction right after months of making an ass of myself!

yeah CH, for shame! how dare you sully your CSFMB legacy to showcase your uber-blackhawks-love (to the point of perpetual neurotic fears that the team is gonna fall apart when you have hardcore hockey mavens like scorehead to shake their head and be like NUH UH HAWKS GOT THIS) --- seriously dude, you need to stop thinking with the "critical thought" part/s of your brain and start thinking with the "WOOO HAWKS!!!!!" part/s of your brain cuz seriously, if the bandwagon needed actual hockey fans it might have been founded in the early 90s when the hawks were winning presidents cups and stuff.

once you can get over liking/knowing-about hockey and get 100% exclusively into WINNING i think that's when the blackhawks bandwagon will finally accept you with open arms.... cuz seriously, nobody actually likes hockey! don't be THAT GUY disseminating thoughts and perspective and stats and anything that exposes you as being a hockey fan cuz then ppl are gonna go "he's no fun" and hang out with their brethern who got rosy colored lasik right around 2010.

Well, they changed it to Trocheck, whom Pat credited with the goal before the scorer gave it to Pirri, so I guess my slump continues. At least I still have that time I said the Hawks would beat Carolina but Eric Staal would score a goal, get scored on, and take a tripping penalty.

TVR had a very good game, from what I saw (went back and watched some of the second). He's rounding into form well. Gotta like a player like him. All he has to be is solid.

Fun game last night, Hawks put on a clinic. Florida barely even touched the puck. Luongo kept the game from being 4-0 after the first.

Highlight of the game was running into, meeting and getting a photo with one of my alltime sports heroes, Mike Eruzione! Him and Jack O'Callahan were in the concourse between periods hanging out and I managed to squeeze in there and get a handshake and a photo with the Captain. I was shaking and had butterflys when I met him, can't remember the last time meeting a famous person had that affect on me.

You ask Eruzione how it feels to have your life peak at 22?

He was allowed to be a bit more aggressive offensively tonight and it paid huge dividends. More of this please.

Considering that peak has lasted for 35 years I'd guess it feels pretty damn good.

There's a writer writing a book about my team, he followed us around for the year leading up to the Games and the games themselves. The working title of the book is "Schmiracle on Ice."
