Anyone saying this wasn't a great season is an idiot. Congrats to the Cubs. They have a really good team and could do things next year.

Don't be a dick, man.

No baseball team has ever had two good years in a row.

This years Cubs team is one of my favorite Chicago sports teams of all time. This Cubs team brought me back to a sport that I used to have an obsession with.
Like I have said many times, if, as a sports fan, you are only satisfied when your team wins a championship, then you are disappointed 99% of the time. 97 wins and 6 Months of great times & memories aren't negated by 4 games in October, at least for me they aren't. Championships are great, but they are a bonus. Sports should be enjoyable with or without championships.

I enjoy reading your opinions but IT IS NEGATED BY 4 GAMES IN OCTOBER!

For a team I had pegged as maybe a .500 team it was fun to watch the young guys come up and contribute. I was cautiously
optimistic about their chances this year. Was great to beat the Cardinals but their defensive holes and pitching along with the
cold bats did them in. You have to like what the future holds but nothing is guaranteed. I thought there would be extended
success in early and late 2000s. Injuries, trades, you name it can happen. Kinda have to grasp the brass ring when it is
in front of you.

They had a really good season and just ran out of gas and ran up against a buzzsaw team at the end. I feel bad for the Dr Ken's, Peoria Matt's, and jimmypasta's (among many others here) of the world.

I point at laugh at the Scooter's, Juiceds, and Elmhurst Steve's of the Cubs fan base.

Thanks....I think of my brother-in-law's dad (16 inch softball HOF'r) who passed on a few years ago. He loved the Cubs and never saw them get too far. I loved watching the games with him.

Indeed. I never left the Cubs or baseball, but this team captured my imagination, and it brought a lot of friends and family back to the game. It was an enjoyable ride with a very disappointing ending. Hope springs eternal.

Frank, you've had a good perspective throughout the playoff run. I understand your frustration with a certain element of the fan base and share those sentiments.

At least it was quick, like a band aid. I would think '84 or '03 has to be worse with getting so close.

I agree. No doubt the Mets deserved this.

Jimmy still not being able to see a Cubs World Series is the only positive from them losing.

Yeah that's pretty low. Jimmy may be a meatball, but he's a harmless meatball and a good guy.

Quick even within each game. Most of those games felt like they were over in the first inning.

Definitely was a buzzsaw. It was a fun season, thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to next season!

A lot different in a good way from 84 and 03.

All teams have idiot fans to deal with. The Sox got America, GOP, SomeGuy, and Cicero Dave.

Who is your brother-in-law's dad? Wild guess: Ken Furlanetto.

Do they get a World Series trophy for a great regular season and a playoff exit?

I thought expectations were higher and fans were smarter?

and can't talk about the attendance championship without also mentioning the play in game championship they won this year. Cubs fans took to the streets to celebrate and the players doused themselves with champagne.

Like the White Sox beating the Angels in 2005 (without the Cy Young winner)

The one good thing to come out of the sweep is that the "Go Cubs Go" promos will (hopefully) soon vanish from the Score airwaves.
