I figure we could use a thread that's somewhat all encompassing when it comes to "interesting" things in the Wrestling world.

Billy Jack Haynes Challenges Stone Cold Steve Austin

This isn't some mashup type video. This is 2015 Billy Jack in all his follicle glory, saying some interesting and off the wall things.

I wondered what the connection was, and after some googling I learned they share an ex-wife (Lady Blossom - who went from Gentleman Chris Adams to Haynes to Austin) which might explain some of this.

Legend has it, that Lady Blossom is the one who inspired the "Stone Cold" name by once commenting to Steve that he better hurry up and drink his tea before it got "Stone Cold."

Ole Billy Jack also has quite the theory on why Benoit did what he did.

As crazy as he sounds, he is telling the truth regarding Austin's history of domestic abuse.

Billy Jack used to be jacked back in the day. Don't do drugs, kids.

Fun fact....

Meltzer on the 8/31/98 episode of Nitro (Raw was pre-empted that week)

"Due to going unopposed, as it turns out, the show contained five of the ten most watched matches ever on cable and none were matches you'd expect since the lack of competition eliminated the usual channel surfing that goes on Monday nights.
Lodi & Saturn vs. High Voltage match became the second most watched pro wrestling match ever on cable in 5,035,000 homes or a 6.77 rating, trailing only the Hogan vs. Bill Goldberg title change on 7/6."

One idea that almost came to pass.....

At the 3:27 mark, Bruch Prichard says there was a plan to bring Hogan back to WWF and have him be the leader of DX and then eventually drop the belt to Austin.

Now while intriguing to think about, am I the only one who thinks that when the time would've come for the Hulkster to do the job he would have balked at it. "I don't think this Austin kid is ready of the spotlight brother." Followed up with, "Hey, is that Earthquake under the Golga mask? I think I should do an angle with him leading into Mania."

I could've gotten along fine without ever reading that.

Hogan would have found a way to steal the heat after the match like he always did. It would have been similar to what happened to Goldberg.

These recaps of old Raws and Nitros from the hilariously bad years are great. THe only issue is some of the articles are gone.

But the ones that are there are pure gold

Worst: Pastamania

Eric Bischoff “catches up” with WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan, who is signing autographs for sorta-interested children outside of PASTAMANIA, his new “restaurant” in the Mall of America. I put restaurant in quotes for two reasons:

1. there is no way that place sold actual food, and
2. Hogan usually only opens breastaurants.

Hogan’s facing Big Bubba in the main event and tries to cut a promo on him. It’s one of those times when you know someone came up to Hogan earlier in the day and was like, “promo on Big Bubba, here are some notes” and Hogan went NUTS TO YOUR NOTES, BROTHER, I CAN WING IT. So Hogan’s trying to come up with a classic promo on the fly, but he’s surrounded by children in front of the GREAT STEAK AND PASTA COMPANY in a goddamn mall so it turns into a story about how he’s going to eat Hulk Hogan Brand Pasta, bodyslam Big Bubba, then make Bubba eat the pasta. Imagine his “Donald Trump will almost drown when I slam Andre and break the fault lines” promo, but instead of Andre he’s slamming a George Foreman grill.

Upon his return from the WWF, he was often referred to like this.....

"It's the Boss. And Man is he Big."

That's what Im saying Gold like that

Plus this kind of stuff in the comments

I’ve often thought that Vince saw Shawn as the ultimate “cool kid” and wanted to live vicariously through him, and make him the face of his fucked-up, stupid vision for a company. “Look at him shake that thing, AwGaaahLookAThat!”

It's pretty cool and sad at the same time that I upon seeing that gif I immediately knew Disco Inferno was either on his way to the ring or just won his match.

On second thought, it's not cool at all. It's just plain sad.

Courtesy of RamonesRazor on Reddit....

Hogan's 1998 WCW Contract

He got a $2,000,000 bonus just for signing the contract, paid to him within 14 days.
He was paid 25% of all ticket revenues for any Nitro or Thunder that he appeared. This amount could never be less than $25,000.
For any PPV that he appeared on, he got 15% of all PPV sales OR $675,000 -- whichever number was higher.

Insanity. Pure insanity.

Is it any wonder this company went under?

WCW had a special way of failing on something in such spectacular fashion.

Vader's White Castle of Fear

Ted Turner must've really loved him some wrasslin to foot the bill on this one. Stay to the end for a bonus promo from a young Lord Steven Regal before he was A Man's Man.
