NFL admitted to Lions today that officials missed a hold on Ndamukong Suh on the 4th-down conversion from Tony Romo to Jason Witten with 6 minutes left in the game (after the controversial Brandon Pettigrew play and before the Dallas TD). Had holding been called, it would have put Cowboys in 4th and 16 on Detroit side of the field. Dallas would have punted and Detroit still would have the lead. One person said that this is "even worse than the PI call/no call."

Missed calls happen, but picking up the flag once PI was called was egregious.

I don't know how they missed that call. I was screaming at my TV from the couch. The O-Lineman had his arm wrapped around Suh's head. It was obvious.

Just to confirm, you are not crying are you?

I'm responding to dolphin's ridiculous claim that if not for the running into the kicker penalty (correct call), Dallas would have won in a cakewalk. I'm not sure he and I watched the same game.

That's not really a response.

Blame whatever you want on the shutdown but the Lions were outscored 24-6 in the final three quarters with the Cowboys both missing a chip shot field goal and fumbling away a recovered fumble at the Lion 20.

So, your point is take away the Lions dominating 1st quarter, take away a running into the kicker penalty (which was correct call), ignore the two horribly blown calls, from which Dallas benefited greatly, a tipped pass resulting in an interception at the Lions 20 yard line, and Dallas wins in a cakewalk? This is as bad a football thought as I have heard in quite a long time.

Take away none of it and Dallas won 24-6 in the final three quarters. That is not speculative.

Your entire premise is speculative.

If, if, if, if, if, if...

Not according to the rules the NFL adopted this season. He went 32 games without an incident which removed him from the repeat offenders list.

If you would like to continue to argue against facts, then you will have to do so by yourself.

24-6 over three quarters versus 14-0 in one quarter. No speculation

Unfortunately for your weak argument, the first quarter counts too.

According to the guys who cover the team, resigning Suh is priority one.

Caldwell. Easily worst head coach in the NFL. He'll probably get to stay for another 3 years though.

Caldwell will be the next Bills coach, then be out of the league.

Detroit seems to always be handicapped by terrible coaches.

As if watching that shitfest wasn't bad enough, I got a second straight dose of Myers and Barber on the call.

Don't worry, they'll hire Pagano after this season.

Unfortunately, I don't think Caldwell is going anywhere.

Just fired just about their whole offensive staff, but they kept the quarterback coach Jim Bob Cooter to be their offensive coordinator.

The cancer needs to be cut out 100%. Until Jim Caldwell is fired the Lions will suck.

Sadly, there will probably always be a head coaching home for guys like Caldwell & Lovie. I know the league wants more minority head coaches, but there must be more qualified minority candidates than these guys. More GM's & owners need to think out of the box & stop re-hiring re-treads who have a history of being bad.

What does Lovie have to do with Caldwell? Different coaches, different philosophies...

If you're looking for an equally crappy coach to compare.Caldwell to, why not try someone like Tomsula?.
