I really don't have it out for this guy, but I turned on the radio before Mully & Hanley and couldn't believe this gem: "I know there are college teams that could beat NBA teams."

Fred, the best college basketball teams I can ever remember had at most five future first-rounders and a few future stars. And even the worst teams in the league today consist entirely of All-Americans and European stars, from the starting five to the end of the bench.

Again, I'd like to hear another voice on this show, but this ain't it.

Further, the Dolphins would CRUSH Ohio State, WV, LSU, Georgia, Missouri, USC or any CFB team you want to put out there.

Worthy, Jordan, Perkins, Jimmy Black and Matt Daugherty?

vs.

Maybe a recent Atlanta team before Josh Smith has a shot

Thats about it

Any NFL team ever v. Any college team ever, not even a chance

I'd take it up a step bigfan and say Phi Slamm Jamma with Olajuwan and Drexler would still get beaten by any current NBA team.

Could Fred name any?

Does stupid Fred realize that every 12th man on every NBA team was a star in college?

What a stupid thing to say.

No--I think he just made a stupid "passing" comment. What bothers about it is that it's just plain stupid to compare college athletes to professional athletes (at least in football and basketball).

The best college teams I can remember pale in comparison to NBA talent: Phi Slamma Jamma? Olajuwon was only a freshman and still developing when Drexler left, and they also never won any titles against "inferior" college opponents. That Duke team from 1999 with all the draft picks (Brand, Maggette, etc...) never won the title either. Even the best of all, 1990 UNLV (Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony & Larry Johnson) would be shut down embarrassingly by any NBA defense.

I'd think Webber, Howard, Rose and Co could beat the Hawks.

1. Fred said Bulls are Playing Charolette Hornets Friday Night. Actually they are playing sat night and Fred got upset because they all knew and didn't tell him.

2. Fed, having a date wrong is an honst mistake , but the fact you spent the entire morning saying "Hornets" instead of Bobcats just wreaks of your inability to be updated on anything, which is sad for an "Update" guy

The only thing Fred has ever studied is the menu at his favorite place to eat.
