Aside from some of the umpire complaining, he really is. Len spins just as many yarns too, except his are about music while Hawk's are about his playing days.

instead of " this player has/is best _____________ I ever saw" it's "this player has best "obscure SABR stat" I ever read"

The boys are feisty tonight. With Ventura on the mound for KC this one could get out of hand.

Good lord Syndergaard is killing a forest tonight. That's 3 shattered bats in 1+ innings.

The Yoster is the most conservative manager in the history of baseball. A pitching change for the pitcher. Sheesh

man granderson is making me extra proud to hail from THE university of illinois @ chicago! UIC FLAMES PRIDE UP IN HERE! did anyone else go to the campus once renown for having an elevated walkway system around the circle center that featured a literal and figurative underworld of rape/thuggery/drugs beneath it?

i remember when i was going there at least once a semester some local smoker would wander onto campus and find themselves a commuter chick, take advantage of the odd ~1 story deep stairwells to nowhere (access to the drainage system) and get their rape on.

Goddamn the Royals are tough outs. Don't know how they can lay off those pitches.

Collins left his guy out there. The Yoster would have made at least 3 pitching changes that inning.

Harold Reynolds is the only one of the three that didn't wear a suit. Not that I'm outraged, but put on a suit if your partners are wearing suits. Bet he didn't even ask FOX. Just came to the ballpark that way. What are they gonna do? Send him home. It's just a bad look.

I'm fine if none of them wore suits. That's not my point. They should dress casual for a baseball and football broadcasts in fact. But if the other 2 are wearing suits, so should you. How does this make me a homo or a Bernstein disciple?

Let's go Mets! Got a series again and Murph hasn't done anything yet.. I think Matz gets it done today.

Gotta like the Mets chances to tie this up after they have seen so much of Young earlier in the series.

AND THIS WORLD SERIES IS OVAH!

murphy giveth.... murphy taketh away.... and now the royals took the lead right as i typed this..... and yeap, now the royals will lock down the game and the mets will go down 3-1 and lost one of the next 3 games and it was over.... all they had to do was win tonight and it was a series with the mets having lets say a 55% chance of winning it, maybe 60% i'd give them at 2-2.

now it's going to take a miracle cuz man..... these royals just don't fucking stop. the astros had them dead to rights.... the mets had them in game 1 and even got the go-ahead run against herrera/davis and didnt close out that game, and now they have this 3-2 in the 8th with 1st and 2nd and murphy goes buckner and the game gets tied, then the mets choke away the lead so yeah.... THIS WORLD SERIES IS OVAH, as much as i hate to admit it.

inb4 500 happy cubs fans dance on the mets grave.

That Murphy error will be one of those we see for years to come if the Royals win the series.

man.... let's be real here, the mets choked away this series. i wanna say "they have a hell of a cubbie impression" but the cubs just plain got their asses kicked.... the mets actively choked away this world series and literally had a fucking buckner play by murphy to likely end the series!

game 1 = up 4-3 in the 9th and alex gordn gets a solo shot to tie it, then on the road they gotta battle these cardiac royals who have last wraps so it was an uphill battle, but you knew it was over when they got the go-ahead run off of herrera/davis and were 1-2 outs away from closing it out and AT LEAST leaving KC at 1-1.... instead they come home @ 0-2 and even tho they won game 3, man, they shoulda won tonight (even with collins leaving matz in for one inning too long and thus giving KC 2 runs) ---- but murphy str8 up bucknered it and that KILLED the overworked/overrated familia (he had a nice year but chapman/kimbrel/davis/pre-injury-holland/etc he is NOT) and he quickly gave up the lead after 4-3.

yost, who fucked up having dyson PH with 2 outs in the 7th, is now going to davis for a 6 out save? wowoww.... zero 6 out saves for him, and maybe he knows something about herrera or he's just wanting to keep him fresh cuz herrera is better at coming into the middle of an inning than davis, but still..... mets are fucked without a bloop and a blast and uhhhhh... yeah. they shoulda came out of this game up 3-1 and looking to ice the world series.... but instead the whole thing where familia is your closer caught up with you, and for all of murphy's (roided up) postseason adventures, man, he just handed it all back and thensome with that buckner-job cuz MAN, 2 outs and runners on the corners odds are you get out of the inning with momentum. instead that error tied the game and it unraveled familia so much that he quickly gave up the lead, and then bedshitting continued to 5-3 royals... and at 3-1 i mean, series isnt OVER....mets can theoretically win game 4 and make it 3-2, then send out degrom and pray he doesnt run out of gas and/or tip his pitches and then 3-3, and then game 7 = who knows?

but seeing as the mets already blew 2 games where they had 1 run leads in the 9th/8th innings, they're unraveled and they're just waiting for "oh no here we go again" and the royals know they can take the mets late cuz they've got skip bayless' "clutch gene" so yeah, THIS SERIES IS OVAH!
