43 and 48 for Durant and Westbrook tonight. First duo to both go over 40 since Jordan and Pip

Pistons coming off turning an 18 point 2nd half deficit into a 17 point win in Portland last night are playing Golden State even early in the 4th out in Oakland.

Don't know if you caught it but it looks like he was yelling at the coach during one of their timeouts near the end of the game. I'm really interested to see how this plays out. He has no respect for David Blatt. It is painfully obvious.

Cavs now 1-3 vs Central teams. 7-0 vs the rest of the league. 2nd loss in a row--they fell 105-108 to a Bucks team that got blasted opening day of whitetail season style (115-86) by the Wizards tonight.

Missed that. Refs spend too much time reviewing clearly non-flagrant fouls to see if they're flagrant.

Right after the missed Mozgof shot. Detroit called the timeout. He walked to the bench and started yelling. Couldn't tell what he was mad about but he was yelling in Blatt's direction about something.

Well, that's abrupt. They were in the conference final last year. Didn't have a prayer in it, but they were there. You'd think that and .670 over the prior two seasons would be enough to keep a job.

Isn't Les Alexander one of the last of the old eccentric NBA owners (Bill Davidson, Larry Miller, Abe Pollin, Herb Kohl, et al)? Maybe he's desperate for one last big run before he dies or sells the team to more of these hedge-fund fucks who buy all the teams now.

Just signed him to a 3 year 12 million dollar deal in December, this is crazy.

God do the Sixers blow. I added up their roster salaries and come up with about $32 mil...isn't there a minimum salary cap? Or do they have a bunch of dead money?

Can someone explain to me again why I should believe that Jason Kidd is a better coach than Thibs?

Jason Kidd confuses basketball for ex-wife.

They are not looking good currently. They made two moves that are currently killing their team.

1. Trading Brandon Knight and Acquiring Carter Williams. That move was boneheaded at the time and it looks even worse now.

2. Signing Greg Monroe. Monroe is a career loser. He puts up numbers on bad teams. He never has had much impact in terms of affecting games.

Kidd out coached Thibs during last season's playoffs. May not be better in the long run but he got the better of him last season.

ok so now the narrative has changed.

Kidd was a better coach for a few games, but he may not be going forward.

The reality remains that Thibs has always and will always be a better coach than Kidd.

Kidd got the Bucks to play a few games in the playoffs over their head and beat the Bulls in those few games while the Bulls were looking ahead.

Not just a few games. Kidd's record was 9 games worse than Thibs last yr. Milwaukee lost their best player Knight and two starters Parker and Sanders yet finished .500 last yr. They were not predicted to win more than 26 or 27 games. They won 17 the previous yr I believe.

Kidd has to get credit for that. It's still early as to whether he will be better than Thibs. They are underachieving though.

Thibodeau was the second best coach in the league during his tenure.

Kidd would need success, for a sustained period of time, to even be in a conversation about 'good' coaches...let alone up there with Thibodeau.

No he was wasn't. The Bulls were supposed to collapse in his absence.

Apparently Al Jefferson just got a 5-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy. Have no idea whether it's a Barry Bonds or John Drew type of violation.

I was hoping MLB Network would be airing today's Venezuelan Winter League championship series as an encore...but alas, I have to watch these two western conference 'titans' play ugly basketball.

Terrible opinion. Two of the best teams in recent memory right here.

For the first time in NBA All-Star game history there are no white players. So Dirk Nowitzki is going to boycott, right? #Oscars
