I'll have to study up on bigfan's rankings then. Maybe there is a history lesson in there.

No. You're not supposed to love anything because anyone else does. Love whatever you want to love.

Pizza with sausage, onion, and BBQ sauce is great.

No bacon.

Interesting post. We're living in a time when bacon has become fetishized. "It's better with bacon." Don't get me wrong. I like bacon. But everything is not better with bacon unless all you want is bacon. Its flavor is overwhelming. When I eat a hamburger I want a hamburger. Not bacon.

I agree no bacon on pizza.

But bacon can be a 'condiment', if you don't overload it. I occasionally enjoy bacon on my burgers. Or sandwiches.

Most things are, in truth, worse with bacon.

BBQ sauce is acceptable on a pizza topped with chicken, bacon, and onions.

Chicken, bacon, ranch, and barbecue sauce pizzas are fairly common in many parts of Massachusetts. They can be quite tasty.

They way I see it is that I can get that combination in a sandwich if I want and it will taste better.

Pizza and burgers are better with bacon. Let's not get too extreme with the anti-bacon blowback here.

Some pizza and most burgers are better with bacon. No BBQ on pizza ever.

Bacon & brussel sprouts or bacon and short ribs are our favorites.

I've had exactly one burger w/bacon in my entire life where the bacon made a real difference. It just isn't necessary if you have good meat, properly cooked with a good cheese imo. As for on pizza, I don't particularly care for any kind of cured meat on pizza. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really a pizza purist & I do like different things on pizza every now and then, but cured meats just end up dominating the whole Magilla. Kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion. As noted above, if I want bacon, I'll just get bacon.

One of my best experiences away at school was knowing it was "bacon" day in the cafeteria. My roommate & I would make sure to go get a full plate of bacon to go with a giant bowl of Crunch Berries. (Oh for the days of being an underweight 17 year old)

What in the world is a "double dough" pizza? A sandwich or calzone?

What happened to your Mets avatar, slick?
Double dough is one of those self explanatory deals. The crust is double thick.

God no. It's just that if I want bacon, salami, prosciutto, pepperoni or ham on something, I'd rather it be on a sandwich, especially from D'Amatos or Bari. Good Italian sausage, seafood or chicken are all preferable toppings than the cured meats on pizza.
