That and Reagan's "welfare queens in the hood". And NPR. And Planned Parenthood. And so on. And so forth.

In other news, the USPS is having a very public flirtation with expanding its footprint to include banking and financial services. One of the prime cheerleaders in this effort has been the Postal Service’s IG David Williams.

Close your 401K'S & IRA'S & invest your money in the USPS!

Good luck with that.

I'm pretty sure I could give up mail. Or settle for once a week. It's 80% ads anyway that I never read. The bills I get are just my mortgage statement. Almost everything else is online now.
Only stuff I SEND in the mail is my Nicor bill because those cocksuckers charge like $4 for an internet payment as a "Convenience Fee". So... something is convenient, therefore they need to charge me for it. Classy.

Why do you want to hurt the economy?

As conservatives, we want a more fiscally conservative & responsible government.

Conservative politicians certainly pay that lip service, but they spend just as recklessly as liberal politicians.

I agree. I don't think W vetoed one single bill while President. I'm not happy with the republican party.

I'm not going to put any stock in findings in a report paid for by:

A. A competitor in the package market
B. A competitor who wants their competition privatized for their financial gain

Now if that report makes you feel better about your opinion of the USPS.....great.

You know who else gets "subsidies"? The NFL, Wal Mart, Doctors, Big Oil......etc

Maybe we should shut them down too?

You missed the point. Shocking.

Citing wikipedia as proof of something isn't your best move.

I could go to wikipedia right now, change that portion you quoted, and make it say "Scorehead molests collies".

When humping condensers in 95 degree heat for a 10 hour day I'm thankful as FUCK for someone who just offers me a bottle of water. 95% of customers do not.

I just saw a commercial with a tubby Keith Hernandez with a terrible dye job eating popcorn and leering at a couple getting frisky and it made me question my will to live.

I don't begrudge my mail carrier as an individual, but I hate the USPS more than any other (quasi-)Federal agency.

There is nothing I get from the USPS that is urgent enough to justify daily delivery. It's almost all the crap unaddressed mail and the addressed junk mail from people who purchase mailing lists. Plus Christmas cards, and replacement credit cards. And I travel a lot, so the mailbox fills up and I have to go 5 miles away to get my mail at a one-window regional facility that is open 10-4 M-F and finally started being open 9-12 Saturday. And if I'm traveling a couple of weekends in a row, fuck me too bad, they'll just return my mail to everybody and tell the world that I vacated my property.

I'd be willing to PAY them the same rate as a small PO Box (so about $10/month) to have a service with weekly delivery similar to garbage collection, no junk mail, and a 90-day hold instead of a 30-day hold. I would just get a PO Box in the next town over (2 miles), but too many financial services firms insist on being able to deliver to a street address, even though I have e-billing for everybody. At one point before e-billing was common, I had a UPS Store box (so a street address) when our office was across the street from one, but then stuff like insurance companies thought I was a Chicago resident. So when we moved offices, I cancelled it.

I'd pay even more money for a truly virtual service that put labor into scanning, storage, and selective delivery instead of bombarding me with a bunch of crap that is going straight to the recycling bin or the shredder. There are companies out there that do that, but not ones that can do that and let me retain my home address for postal mail.

The entire workflow for postal mail is fucked, because nobody wants to cut postal employee jobs for fear of pissing off the relevant unions. As a result, fuck mail carriers.

OK THEN..... i didnt read all of that, but basically the gist is that since chet coppock's fur coat doesnt get anything important/ish in the mail regularly that we all should not get mail delivered to us 6/7 days a week just because CCFC doesnt get any important mail?

or is this simply a service where CCFC can opt out of his daily mail and go get it whenever? cuz man, even tho i might not necessarily get important mail every day, i sure as hell like to know the option is there. it makes me feel good about living in a society where i gotta foot the bill for welfare queens and their cadillac babies and etc.

BUT IF CHET COPPOCK'S FUR COAT DOESN'T NEED THE MAIL EVERY DAY, DAMMIT, WE NEED TO CHANGE THIS SHIT BECAUSE WE'RE WASTING MONEY WHEN THE ARCHETYPE SAYS SO.

Why not an opt out of daily delivery option?

You can get mail once a day, once a week, or month

maybe i'd have better luck at a currency exchange? i can tell them that they forgot the dash in "james harris-bank" cuz me and the wifey did that thing where i took on her last name alongside mine cuz we're equal like that =D

that's kind of a dickhead move too, cuz unless you live on a house that's all by itself on top of a mountain the mail carrier is walking by your house anyways, so now you gotta take up more space at the post office (cuz i'm guessing some astronomically low % of the population at large has PO boxes, make it a big flagrant option and tons of CCFCs and RPBs will want them and then you need a lot more space to have them... AND WHOSE TAX $$$ DOES THAT COME OUT OF? PROTIP: NOT MY LAWN GUY'S) and maybe even more man hours to have people watching over the PO boxes and whatnot..... and the mail carrier is STILL gonna walk right by your house anyways.... and then instead of it being easy like "ok i just go to every house" they gotta also pick and see who gets mail and who doesnt and whatnot....

and you could have that mail right there with no real extra effort, but instead you gotta go burn gasoline to drive over to the post office and get it.... and seriously this is why god is inventing a carbon tax to penalize world-killers like you! FOR SHAME RPB!
