I don't think people hate cops because they have to deal with a lot of bullshit.

I think that is ultimately how cops become tough to deal with. The bullshit that they endure can be pretty overwhelming at times.

I like the CPD, I took the test years ago but decided against pursuing it.

Oh, and all but a handful of Americans are underpaid.

Sure..Driving a truck is probably boring but the numbers don't lie.. Its statistically more dangerous than a cop..despite the media bombardment of Cops Killed !! Propaganda .. 2015 is really a safe year for cops.

People hate cops because they abuse their authority and turn a blind eye to bad coworkers.

We make excuses for cops but not for soldiers. I'm confident a soldier that has fought in a war has seen worse.

Oh hell yeah. In war there is supposed to to be no holds barred but now a days with the pussies we got running this country we have to let the bad guys know we are coming before we shot at them if it is okay.
Only 2% of the American Militay is actual infantry,ie the guys who get up front and dirty the rest are clerks and mechanics. Hell I can not wait for the drone pilots to start claiming PTSD, that is like saying that a guy playing Call of Duty has the same thing.

Dude, go fuck yourself. You don't know shit about the military, judging from this post. You were a drunk ass garbageman who couldn't even handle that fucking gig. You ever been responsible for the killing of 100+ people, many of whom you know had no intentions of engaging the US in war? You'd have to be a psychopath to not get some time of post-traumatic stress from that. I was in the Engineer Corps, and there were a shit ton of guys I was in with who saw combat and fire fight action, and these dudes were plumbers and electricians. Don't come on here like the phony tough guy you are and start talking shit about dudes who actually put their life on the line in a hostile country.

I am putting up number from people who are experts in the military. I don't just grab numbers out of my ass.
If you look at a Infantry Divisions T.O.E. and look at the numbers of front like infantrymen and compare them to the rest of numbers in the unit and do some basic math.
As I said I can give you some books to look the stuff I reference but you are probably to stoned to fucking comprehend them.
Im not saying doing the drone stuff is not stressful but compared to a street cop, no way you have no contact with you subjects , you look at a video screen and do at most one "encounter" per day. How many encounters do police do every single day? How many times to they have to deal with people who treat them with contempt and disrespect just because they are police? You are the guy who does not seem to have a clue.
As I said I am a Military Historian, did not serve, I thank everyone who has . I bet a know a l0ot more than you do about a lot of the Military and what is going on in the world.

The war on drugs we've been waging has gone on a lot longer than any other war (minus the Cold War). Again, don't be upset when we tell cops to fight a war and they start acting like soldiers.

You aren't a Military Historian, you're a drunk, disabled idiot who wishes he had the balls to enlist in the military once upon a time.

Infantry aren't the only ones who see combat action. I don't need books on this; I promise I know way more about this topic than you ever will.

It's not about dealing with assholes. Anyone who is not a sociopath/psychopath would tell you they would much rather deal with someone who is an asshole than be ordered to kill a bunch of people you will never meet, and who will never face a trial before their death. Drone operators are more likely to encounter ptsd than any other single current MOS in the military at the current moment. Again, you're very far from a historian or authority on this subject, so I would just stop now while you're behind.

I went to enlist scored an 81 on my ASVAB, going into the Navy. Could not get a medical deferral for my Asthma.

Military Historians typically write books, work at universities or places like say West Point, and make a living teaching military history. If I recall correctly you work form home in some sort of call center supervisory capacity.

I could be wrong though. Please post your published works and I'll reconsider my position.

I went to enlist scored a 96 on my ASVAB, going into the Army. Could not get a medical deferral for my affinity for weed, so I quit smoking and enlisted anyway.

The biggest problem recently is that it no longer is just DEA, SWAT, ATF, etc. You have suburbs of 60,000 people and less than 1% violent crime who are requesting goddamn Bearcats and rocket launchers. Makes no fucking sense.

Cops need to learn that respect has more than one definition. Respect can mean "treating someone like a human being" or it can mean "treating someone like an authority". Cops think if you don't treat them like an authority, they are right not to treat you like a human being.

GEORGE: Wow, Keith Hernandez. He's such a great player.

JERRY: Yeah, he's a real smart guy too. He's a Civil War buff.

GEORGE: I'd love to be a Civil War buff. ... What do you have to do to be a buff?

JERRY: So Biff wants to be a buff? ... Well sleeping less than 18 hours a day would be a start.
