No doubt the President didnt do much, doesnt even look like he did much to deal with this.

But, I do see the students kind of being assholes here...

It's funny to see a bunch of nitwits talking about "personal space" at the same time they're shoving a guy and screaming in his face.

I think to some degree you have a bunch of kids who have read about the 60s and romanticized it and they're looking for their own cause(s). There are mobs and then there are mobs. You look at the people in Ferguson and it's real emotion and an honest reaction against bullying by the police over a long period of time. Things just blew. I see this mob and it's bullying in its own right. Let's all scream at a photographer or an econ professor. It's contrived.

Deal with what, exactly?

What would have made this right?

Hopefully the next school president comes in and lays down hard and strict speech and thought laws....that only apply to certain people, of course.

Yep, going after the Asian student for taking pics as thr media. I dont know if he works for the student paper or not, but he claims he is a student...and they just bullied the guy out.

And the nasty Caller Bob yelling at him....ughhh....she is the epitomy of the bitch that never had any purpose in life and now thinks she is protecting a world changing event.

Maybe I missed something, what is the part about "someones life is now on the line" and thats why you cant take pictures of them gathering in a public place.

That isn't a surprise at all. That was exactly the impression I got from events I attended there. I hope the Iowa president learns from this experience. The kids I know that are there now really like it a lot. I looked into Iowa with my son & really liked the campus and atmosphere there as well.

Has anyone seen the 30 for 30 about Bill McCartney, the old Colorado coach yet? There was a statistic in there that I found hard to believe. At the time McCartney was coach there were 23,000 students at the University of Colorado and only 400 of them (including the guys on the football team) were black.

Here is a list of the demands from protestors:
https://twitter.com/BKSportsTalk/status ... _src=twsrc^tfw

We demand that the University of Missouri System President, Tim Wolfe, writes a handwritten apology to the Concerned Student 1-9-5-0 demonstrators and holds a press conference in the Mizzou Student Center reading the letter. In the letter and at the press conference, Tim Wolfe must acknowledge his white male privilege...

Pathetic. Completely and totally pathetic.

These "protesters" are fucking pussies.

What would admitting his "white male privilege" have done? Fucking dumb ass pieces of shit.

Look for this kind of garbage to start sweeping the nation, like a firestorm.

It looks that way. Problem solved!

I think it was the poop swastika in the bathroom stall that pushed this thing over the edge.

Apparently it was a lack of official statement on Ferguson that started the whole racial angle. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/student- ... d-mizzoup/

But the Chancellor (who was also forced to resign the other day) issued this last fall:

Statement Regarding the Events in Ferguson

Dear Mizzou family members,

I am writing to express my support for all members of our community who may be directly or indirectly affected by the ongoing events in Ferguson.

MU fully supports opportunities for our students, faculty and staff to continue to reflect upon current events in Ferguson in a constructive and respectful way. My thanks to our many campus organizations who have made this possible by sponsoring events that allow our community members to come together to express their feelings and discuss the larger implications of events for our community, state and nation. It is my hope that these activities, and others that are yet to be scheduled, will continue the open dialogue that can bring us closer together as a community.

Student Life is prepared to reach out to students from Ferguson who may need our support. Our outstanding staff in the Black Culture Center have offered them support and will continue to provide a place where students who are affected by these events can express their feelings and concerns.

At Mizzou, our diversity is our strength. The perspectives of our diverse community enrich our dialogue on difficult issues. It is our responsibility to provide an environment where everyone can learn and where we can address the complexity of the social issues that have affected our community in the past and will shape how we face the future.

I also want to assure everyone in our community that we have resources and dedicated professional staff right here on campus to help you if any of you need assistance in working through these issues. Please contact me personally (loftinr@missouri.edu), Vice Chancellor Cathy Scroggs (scroggsc@missouri.edu) or MU’s professional staff at MU’s Counseling Center and/or the Employee Assistance Program.

Wishing you peace for the Thanksgiving holiday.

R. Bowen Loftin

Chancellor

Mildly interesting that the old Big 8 schools all follow the _U abbreviation style despite not being ___ University: Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas.

The funniest thing in the McCartney 30 for 30 was when McCartney was sitting around his living room with a bunch of his old players. One of the players asked, "Do you guys know what the N on the Nebraska helmet stands for?" "Knowledge."

So he was forced to resign because he lacked the necessary political skills for the job. He didn't have to care he just needed to listen and pretend like he gave a fuck. I hope RR or someone else can correct me but this seems pointless.

I dont think he lifted a finger. Thats why I said he was fucked. He did nothing.

I agree if he even made the bullshit gesture of a student task force, a study, etc...he still has the job.

However, you need to wonder, did he want the job? Plus he is there until the end of the year?

These kids got a taste of power and handled it rather poorly.

What will change when he's gone? It sounds like the only demands they had was for him to be fired or for him to apologize and acknowledge his white privilege. Sounds stupid.

Forced him to sell his Mercedes too. Though I think that falls under the white privilege demand.
