Looks like the gays have a little Cup hangover this year. Im sure we are all just having a hard time rooting for the Hawks for letting a non rapist play and not aspending him for no reason. Anyway, said non-rapist potted his 11th but Devil tied it and its 1-1 late in the second.

Sorry - was out and about. Not into the game tonight, though. I'll catch up in the AM.

He's been Rockford fodder for a few years (came over from New York for Kyle Beach) and is now the captain down there. He has no business at the NHL level but here he is nevertheless.

They really aren't much fun to watch so far this year. These defensemen are such a tire fire .

Second line's been back together, Shaw is the #1L of the day (ugh). I think it's mostly been a Dano-Kero-Teuvo third line. Call it the O-Line if it ever clicks.

Shaw has 1 goal in 15 games. I thought they got rid of Bickell.

I don't think that's right to compare him to Bickell.

Shaw needs to be a wing on a third or fourth line where he can keep his game simple and outplay lesser bottom-sixers. He's a weak link on a top line and made to stay back and worry about too much at center.

Shaw may not be built to last. Bickell wasn't either, but Shaw sacrificed a shit-ton more than Bickell ever did.

I actually like the black goalie pads. The rest of the Hawks wear black pants. So now he matches.

Can we call this a second line anymore when they're the only line scoring regularly? Toews and Hossa are basically a star-studded third line.

I dont. White pads look bigger.

What does it matter how they "look" if they are actually the same size? Which I'm sure they are.

I think the idea of the black pads is that while white pads trick the eye into shooting at open space, the black pads help obscure the puck when it's on the rebound. I don't think it really makes a difference one way or the other. We're talking about professionals here.

I don't think Hossa and Toews are good together. What would your first line be?

That's a good point. Maybe it helps save a goal or two during the year because of what you said about rebounds. Maybe even in a playoff game where it might be the difference in advancing.

I didn't think of that.

One point for Nashville, two for Minnesota and Colorado, looking like at least one each for Dallas and Winnipeg. Just another bad day in the standings for the Blackhawks barring a tying goal.

I don't hate the Blackhawks, but math is not their friend right now.

Stars up 4-3 late, so at least the Jets might not get a point.
