I'm really excited this season. This could easily be the best Purdue team since I've been a fan.

Underwhelming win for the Hoibergless No. 7 Cyclones over a mediocre Colorado team. Too much defense.

25 fouls called in the first half of the Kansas-Sparty game. 15 on the Big 10 team.

Mich State comes back and wins, after trailing most of the game. Vitale slobbering all over Izzo..."Hall of Fame coach, Hall of Fame person...toughness" yadda.

79-73 MSU over Kansas. Not much different that what Izzo's teams usually do. Beat the fuck out of the other team in the 1st half; keep it under single-digits and then win the game at the end as the other team's too exhausted to keep up.

MSU's Denzel Valentine 29 points, 12 assists, 11 boards.

Tyler Ulis was one of the best players I have seen play in High School. I am glad to see it has carried over to his time at Kentucky.

Didn't catch much of the first game. Why aren't MSU-Kentucky playing tomorrow night? Or are they.

I see my alma mater Illinois State takes on #2 Maryland tonight and then tussles with #1 Kentucky next Monday. What a schedule! :eye:

Has the rest of the Illini basketball season been cancelled yet?

Bruce Weber's KSU squad just turned an 8 point lead to a 5 point deficit in about 100 seconds. About a minute left. Northwestern thumped Mizzou==pretty impressive.

It was a 3pt game with 4 minutes to play. At least they didn't embarrass themselves although I wasn't very impressed with Maryland.

Illinois State played a pretty lethargic Kentucky team to a tie at half time and only lost by a dozen points in the end.
Obviously they were overmatched but I enjoyed watching the hard work the Redbirds displayed out there. If Mueller
can get a couple of decent recruits in there he may have something in the MVC. Defensively they aren't bad, pretty
deep bench, but they need some scoring.

Brick, that is fine squad I am seeing down in West Lafayette this year, hope he can keep them healthy. They might have a lot to say come March Madness.

I'm pretty excited. It's been a long road back too.

Yeah, and some patience but it looks like it is going to be rewarded. They almost followed the Theo plan.

I didn't think West Lafayette was so much more attractive than Champaign/Urbana for competitive basketball recruits.

They've done a great job of focused recruiting and had some commitments that were under the radar that turned out very well. Then they finally hit on an All-American.

No one wants to wait almost 3 presidential terms for a team to get good. Though in point of fact they have probably had about 5-6 down yrs. Painter has been on the job 11-12 yrs. That's too long to wait on a program these days. I will take the Sean Miller style of building a program any day. Purdue hasn't been good since the Etwaun Moore days. How did the Anthony Johnson era work out for you Brick?

They were down for two years and that was caused by mismanagement by the athletic department that required Painter to threaten to leave for Missouri to get what he needed. It has worked.

The rest of your post doesn't make any sense so I'm just going to ignore it.

The Moore years were great but unlucky with injuries and now they are better by a significant margin than those teams were. If you think I care that they sucked for two years in between then go right ahead.

How in the hell do you get a 7'2 country boy from Alabama to go to Purdue?

Purdue has become one of the few places willing to showcase and develop big men.

But, his improvement has been pretty remarkable. Only Purdue and Wake Forest were really on him hard.

I sort of remembering the suckage pd lasting a tad bit longer but hey I'm hardly the foremost expert when it comes to Boilermaker Buckets. Does that individual even exist or care enough to actually admit it?

Big 10 buckets getting under way.

Michigan and Illinois today could be a good one
