Did anyone watch that Wisconsin victory besides me? I enjoy Big10 football and NU got real lucky in Wisconsin today, eeking out a 20-14 final. It looked like they lost this game 2 different times in the last minute. Overall,Wisconsin had 3 TD's called back because of penalties or replay reversals. Two in the last minute. It was unreal. Once again,Pat Fitzgerald's coaching came into play with some bizarre offensive calls in the final few minutes but it all worked out.....GO CATS!

Was weird. There is some USA Rugby college playoffs or something here. I am sitting talking to some guy at the bar watching the end of the NW game. Turns out he was the assistant AD during the Dennis Green era. Had interesting thoughts.

so was today the last game of the regular season for NW?

i always end up kind of adopting them because not only is NW literally down the street from me and that whole "chicago's big ten team" nonsense, but they usually play some pretty entertaining games throughout the course of the season when they're having a good year and "cardiac cats" means a good thing, and uhhhh yeah you really gotta give coach fitz some props in that he's once again got them top-20 with a defense that can put in a solid shift out there and shove it up wisconsin's giggy like the good lord intended.

IIRC, they lost to michigan and the coach-scoreheads, and then i wanna say iowa who was undefeated til last week or mightj even be undefeated now? not a bad season at all IMO and i hope they get a nice bowl cuz i think they're a really easy team to root for and they always seem to put on some really entertaining games more often than not, even if their offense is kind of laughable most of the time.

It appears they play "at" Illinois next week at Soldier Field. Bear Weather!

Also, I just want to point out that over at www.bigten.org, the standings are "Powered by MortonĀ® Salt." Northwestern, 9-2? It's gotta be the salt!

Admittedly, I'm not a huge college football guy but NU has been the team I enjoy watching and following.

Happy for Coach Fitzgerald and his guys.

Go Cats!

Except the final score was not 20-14, it was 13-7. Did you watch it?

I've hated on the unearned praise of Fitzgerald for a while but he is earning it this season.

Fitz is still meh coach. OC, M!ck McCall's play calling has been horrible. DC, Hankowitz, got some chess pieces this year and did wonders with them. Amazing what you can accomplish with a strong secondary.

10-2 and heading to the Outback Bowl. Stunned that NU did it this year.

Congrats on a good year, MUD. You are way too down on your team, but I get it, I live that too.
They've had a great season. You going to the bowl game?

smart people were all over the Vols. I simply couldn't get myself to do it.

As a final FU though, I was playing a $10 strip card for the final score. I had 4. They money was just about in my pocket and then the Tennessee guy returns the INT for a TD. A good portion of the players would have taken a knee on that thing but not that fuckhead nobody senior who needed his moment before who graduates to doing nothing.
