I agree with everything you posted but this. Good mashed potatoes have a place on virtually every plate.

- Gravy makes things better, period ... it should be carefully meted out so as to not run out of it before leftovers are finished or discarded to the wolves.
- Here's a tip - bring a few of your own pieces of Tupperware (or whatever) to take home leftovers you may want - that way, you don't have to worry about giving the dishes back (aka you don't have to see / talk to those people again until Christmas).

Cool whip is disgusting.

That's right, but her character's name never made sense. None of my classmates, their parents or my teachers had two word/country names like that. It just didn't fit.

mashed potatoes are overrated and redundant at Thanksgiving. We rarely have them on the menu.

Now, my grandma's sweet potato ring? That's a totally different story and one of my favs.

Nope & pizza days kinda blew. 2/3rd of the pies were either cheese or spinach. Even the Jewish kids raced to the line for sausage or pepperoni slices.

Varies on who is hosting, but usually end of around 4:00 meal time.

All I know is I was requesting an earlier start time as to make kickoff at a friend's house.

If the Bears are not playing, we usually start gathering around 3, dinner at 5. This year, between having a family member hospitalized downtown and the Bears being the night game, my relatives will probably start a little later so that people are finishing up dinner right before the Bears' game starts, with dessert being made available just before halftime.

We have a few people who have to work on Friday (out of about 20 adults) - some medical, some small business - so we usually finish by 9:30.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think your spread also includes mac & cheese and greens.

Not this Thursday, but mac n cheese and greens are in the rotation for dinner.

One of my wife's coworkers gave us a ton of beet greens during the summer.

We usually try to eat sometime between 3 and 5. I'm usually up and cooking by around 8am. I do the turkey, dressing, gravy and occasionally the Parker House Rolls.

Yea, I don't think its crazy to say that Jews drink less than any other ethnic/religious/race type group. We're just not big drinkers for some reason. Personally, if someone offered me $1000 to never have a taste of alcohol again I would take that offer without hesitation. Heck, I would probably do it for $500.

Now weed on the other hand, you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
