Three-point night for lol-nachos Seabrook. The falloff from our top three defensemen to our other ones is something else, isn't it?

Whoever the announcer was yesterday made that point. He pretty much said the Hawk's philosophy this year is to have four defense men and pray.

Well, that's a pretty shitty philosophy. Unfortunately, no one's giving NHL defensemen away. Swapping out Rundblad for Gustafsson won't be a revelation, but at least it'll allow us to spell Rozsival a little bit so we can run him into the ground one last time in the playoffs.

I didn't think they could do it but they won the Cup last year that way.

It was never as dire in the regular season as it was in the playoffs. Rozsival was solid enough, and even Rundblad showed signs of competence.

I don't know what the Hawks can do. As tempting as it is to be done with Trevor Daley, that just creates an even bigger hole. TVR can be a very good minutes-eater, which is integral, but he sure gets lit up if you can't hide him on the road.

That was a big 2 points! No doubt. If they can make it through this season, scuffling to find that lower end defense, they ought to be just fine into the playoffs. What will save their asses will be the forwards backchecking like Hossa...crosses fingers Hoss can make it into the playoffs intact.

But the same can be said for most other NHL teams too. I fully expect Stan, John, Q and company to make some moves near mid season to improve the team.

No, I don't think most teams have a top three as good as Keith, Seabrook, and Hjalmarsson.

Most of the teams in the NHL would love to have the Blackhawks' problems.

We have a problem named Bryan Bickell. They can have him!
