My interpretation of this logic is that first they want a chancellor, then an AD, and then that AD will fire Cubit and Groce and bring in his guys next year. Cubit's buyout isn't much. It sucks for Illinois but it is the right decision. Purdue is doing something similar for their horrible coach because the athletic director is nearing retirement. Find a new athletic director and let them bring in their guy. The pain will be big for a season but long term it is the right choice.

At least you don't owe your coach about $7 million over the next three years like we do!
