the reason I ask is I was going to invite my Manly book club members over for steaks, but Iron Man doesn't eat meat.

Not a big fish guy but swordfish is alright when done right. Best fish I ever had was when I caught a 30 lb Dolphinfish ( Mahi Mahi )
in Cabo, had the skipper filet it and we took it back to the resort and had them make it for us that evening.

That's a gorgeous fish. You almost hate to kill one. My ex-mother-in-law and I caught two 20+ pounders at the same time between Key West and the Dry Tortugas. I used to have a great picture of us bringing them in the boat but I threw it in the garbage when I got divorced.

No fish is as good as eating some fried grouper at a Frenchy's. Around here, I go with salmon mostly.

Yeah they are very cool looking. Got a photo with mine and the skipper after he gaffed it. You have to get the picture within the first few minutes of catching them,
after they are out of the water they turn a grayish color and are not all that impressive anymore. Good fighting fish and delicious.

Dolphin is great, snapper is great, grouper is great, tuna is great...as long as it's fresh.

I spend a lot of time in the Keys and pretty much only eat fish when I'm down there and it's our fresh catch...otherwise, you don't know if it's been frozen, on ice or not, how old it it, etc...

I agree--did the same thing in Fla. years ago and it was incredibly good. Though I forgot my dramamine and got seasick. Probably as close to death as I have ever come. There's nothing like it, at least in my experience.

It's kind of a blank slate, other than having that buttery tenderness that you don't get from scaly whitefish. Of course, if you blacken it, it doesn't matter where it came from. I think the only time I had line-caught catfish was in Memphis. It was very good indeed.
