Not good. DB & Safety play was horrendous.

Honestly, they don't have talent to overcome mistakes in blown coverage, missed field goals, etc.

On the TV,they showed the QB talking to the WR right before the bomb. The WR didn't even huddle up because he already knew the play. I told my son that was where he was throwing to. I guess the 8 Bear coaches sitting in the press box were watching something else.

What seems to be forgotten is that Bears punt return for a TD that was called back because #52 was literally holding a guys arm.

just terrible. Give that fuck a bus ticket out of town along with Robbie Gould.

Not allowed. All-star coaching staff. They've turned this team around. 5 straight wins to finish the season. Wild card bound.

Sure they've only beaten one good team (who was playing poorly for several weeks), have lost to a few really bad ones and have looked solid on both sides of the ball exactly once. But that goes against the local media's accepted meme.

It's not on the coaches, the offense or the defense. None did great, but they all did well enough to win. The kicker choked, and in this league that means kicker won't be on the roster much longer.

Cutler is clearly hurt. The Bears were adamant about not throwing the ball and when they did Cutler was missing big time. I don't know if it was the body slam or what.

Bears offense was completely one-dimensional and they had no reason to be. Only reason I can think of is injury.

They played that ball control field position game and it worked pretty damn well, Gould just imploded.

They played a horrible team to a draw at home. Allowing the game to come to a last second field goal is not worth defending. The coaching staff keeps receiving praise for developing a game plan which keeps it close and when they manage to squeak out a few wins that's considered progress. The problem with that is it allows other bad teams to squeak out wins as well.

So keeping a roster of absolute nobodies (esp defensively) close in every game but the Clausen start is a sign of bad coaching.

The Bears had this game won. The game plan was strategically solid and it was executed relatively well. The kicker left 6 points on the board and bricked 36 yd FG to win it. Gould hits the FG and we're all talking about how smart it was to control the ball and work for the final score.

Actually we'd be talking about how they were fortunate to win despite letting a bum-ass team hang around til the very end.

I never said anything about bad coaching. I just don't buy the whole "great coaching" meme either. The Bears are a below average team that has played a lot of bad/horrible teams recently which has lead to an improved record and some over the top praise.

The praise I hear most is that arguably (only Jacksonville could have competed) the worst roster in the NFL at the onset of the season has been competitive in all but one game all through week 12.

While true, let us not forget that before both FG misses, JCut put up another Pick6; if he doesn't do that, the FG misses are moot.

simply not true. The Bears were viewed as a very flawed team with a shot at .500 if things went well. There were several teams which started the season with clearly worse rosters.

Purely based upon listening to the Score, the praise I hear most is...
-Players are in the right spot
-Cutler is playing great and has been saved by Gase.
-The team is playing hard for Fox.

The one I'd take most issue with is regarding Cutler. His stats are pretty much where they have always been. My bigger complaint is with regard to the overwhelming media praise. It has been over the top for a team which has never been .500 and has lost to a couple of horrible teams.

Might have started with worse rosters, Bears were pretty banged up on offense this year.. The pick six fucked us and Gould with 2 missed field goals sealed the deal...overall Fix has done a pretty nice job and Fangio is as good as it gets as a DC ... Bears should win 10 us next year.

The defensive resurgence has coincided nicely with a string of struggling offenses. They are better than last year though. 10 wins? Not a chance.

If the Bears hadn't given away at least 3, if not 4 games this season, they would already be an 8 or 9 win team this season with 4 to go.

The low expectations going into this season do not justify the following reality of repeated blown silver-platter opportunities that have been there for the taking.
