Looking forward to this. The best team in the history of the NFL. We will never see a team destroy their opponent week in and week out like 85 Bears did.

Bears. Ditka. Sausage.

Maybe the most underachieving team in NFL history never getting back to the Super Bowl and Multiple first round losses.

The 1985 Bears were underachievers? Yea...too bad they didnt have a better year.

The straw that broke the camel's back, when Lew Barnes fumbled down around the goal line.

this seems to go against what 30for30 was originally for, to get filmmakers to go over under-reported stories, or at least present a well known one in a unique way.

This seems just like a way to stroke the ego of ESPN employee Ditka

I really think you are taking it for granted. Entire generations of kids that have no clue what that team was about.

My nephew is a Packers fan. He's a Packer fan because some of the family is from Milwaukee, but mainly it was because the Packers were better.

If he was 7-10 years old during the McMahon hype, he would be a mega Bears fan.

Plus, I dont think you can underestimate the impact this team and the players had on the world of Sports Marketing.

While many of us here know every game, know every play and player....they are historically the best team ever for a season (Fuck the Dolphins) and its history many have never seen.

I beleve they run a poll every year during the Super Bowl of what was the single greatest team in NFL history and the Bears win each year with close to 50% of the vote. Which is really impressive when you know it was 30 years ago!

Good to hear from our little ray of sunshine, Conns.

The Bears loss in 87 had far more to do with Jim McMahon's off field behavior then anything else.

Perhaps Ditka didn't have to bring in Flutie. But the way McMahon handled it sank their season.

Exactly. Everyone wants to give Ditka shit and a lot of it is deserved but McMahon fostered a lot of the resentment and divisiveness himself. I give him credit for playing his guts out when he was in there but he was a fucking tool when he wasn't playing and he had a huge hand in undermining anything Ditka tried to do. That being said and to echo Scorehead, they were the best team Ive ever seen in football.

This is somewhat contradictory, and the second part seems right to me, everybody already knows about the '85 Bears. CSN had a good-enough doc for whatever anniversary recently too. I just doubt this will bring anything new, though the trailer did have parts about concussions so maybe that will be something unique.

I dont think many people under 33-34 year old know much about the 85 Bears. Especially nationally. Most kids growing up in Chicago right now know very little about Michael Jordan.

Very cool to see them do this, started watching football that year. I still remember them losing to the Dolphins that year to end the streak and the adds in the newspapers before the Super Bowl that had both cities taunting one another. I remember 1 of the pics was of a Bear stirring little Patriots in a giant stew pot over a fire lol

It's 30 (THIRTY) years ago man. Kids these days don't give a damn about 30 seconds ago. The rest of us old people forget shit from 30 minutes ago.

A good deal of the expected viewership is going into watching it in full meatball mode - myself damned sure included, so if they're going to go hard on some mystery topic(s), they're likely not going to bring that up for the first promo.

Lastly, CSN's was nice ... this one, however, is being done by a slightly larger outfit on a channel with slightly more reach - I see no reason not to expect something outright better. If it's not, it's not; until then, though ...
