I agree. I can understand initially deferring to veterans that are more accomplished, but he is going to have to shake it up in about the next 10-15 games.

Whom would you sit in favor of Portis among the logjam that is Noah, Mirotic, Gibson, and Pau?

The answer is Noah. There isn't even a debate.

I would try to trade Pau or Taj. Preferably both. There is definitely a market for Pau. I'm probably decreasing all their minutes somewhat equally if I'm Hoiberg.

Yes there is. Noah has been playing extremely well the past two weeks. For me its Taj. No that is not really a surprise but the Taj debate might as well be titled the Al Hudson debate at this point. It has become that one sided.

Noah
December = 7 Games 24.3 MPG .375 FG% 10.3 REB 4.4 APG 2.0 BLK 0.7 STL 2.3 PF 5.1 PPG

Taj
December = 7 Games 21.4 MPG .479 FG% 7.0 REB 1.6 APG 0.6 BLK 0.9 STL 1.7 PF 7.7 PPG

Noah has been playing extremely well but Taj Gibson sucks?

I'm pretty sure if that is Noah playing extremely well, we'd all be content sitting him. He has no upside.

I wouldn't sit Noah, but I am fully willing to admit that it is based completely on emotion and irrationality than on logic. I love me some Joakim Noah. Always will.

Don't worry, bud. I'm still hoping the Bulls can swing a trade for Luol Deng.

The last two weeks the guy has been balling. His assists are up, rebounding up, and he is actually finishing at the rim more. I'm a Noah guy too and if this were last yr it would have been based off emotion, but this yr he is actually contributing.

They are not getting anything from Taj Gibson. The occasional tip in and broken play dunk is not enough at this stage of the game. He can't make an offensive play for you. At least Noah is an excellent passer. He also is a better shot blocker and the Bulls don't get pounded down low when he is in the game with Gasol. They control the glass and they challenge shots at the rim. Taj is an undersized four; always has been and always will be.
