It seemed to bounce off Kruger.

Idk second half of the period I saw some breaks. Seems to me the captain is having trouble skating faster.

Blues came back from down 3-1 at the end of the second and beginning of the third with an assist and goal from Tarasenko. I wish the Blackhawks would score a goal.

Points on the night for Minnesota, St. Louis, Dallas, and tentatively Nashville.

Tarasenko with his third point of the night, an assist to Stastny to take the score from 3-1 Jets to 4-3 Blues.

Hawks are completely overwhelmed by Colorado's speed. They don't know how to handle it. If they can't handle these guys, Stars games will be bloodbaths.

If hell is being shut out with ease by a seventh-place team, yes. These are points you're supposed to bank and they just can't do it.

Why does it appear that 88 and 72 have had their line broken up? Did Q really move 72 up to the first line because the first line can't do shit?

Because the Hawks can't score a goal against one of the worst teams in the league.

They were never even in this game. At this point they must see Varlamov and just give up right out of the gate. Only 29 saves he had to make. Completely pathetic showing. Enjoy the victory lap, Baffoe disciples.

3 cups in 5 years and I think you've called them pathetic 3 nights out of 7 during that time.
I don't get it

This team has a high ceiling and a loooooow floor. When they're bad, they play some of the worst hockey I've seen around the NHL. Disconnected passing, molasses-slow skating, half-hearted lobs right into the chest. They just got thoroughly outclassed by a cellar team. Thoroughly.

Some fans get tunnel vision watching their home team when they slump or struggle, and dont realize that in a sport that plays a lot of games, all teams slump and look like shit against lousy teams a few times each year. No team will ever exist that can run on all 8 cylinders for all 82 games.
Remember how god awful the Hawks were for long stretches last year? Remember how last season ended.

The Hawks will be fine.

Shaw has been bad, Desjardins has been bad, and Kruger has been downright woeful. Hossa's offense has diminished significantly. Toews has been so worthless this year (now on pace for 43 points) that I would entertain the idea of concocting an injury for him around the All-Star Break so that he can just not be here for a couple weeks and maybe rest up a little bit for the home stretch/playoffs. The guy has nothing in the tank and it shows. If he's going to have games like tonight with one missed shot, zero blocked shots, and zero shots on goal, what is he giving you that Tanner Kero can't? other than funny faces?

Wow a team had a clunker of a game. Amazing.

No team has ever done that before.

Season is over.

Overreaction, hyperbole, and inaccurate Shaw thoughts aside, CH is right; however, again one clunker of a game is not a season-long indictment.

Biggest issue with this team is scoring. While I don't think it's a lack of effort, I do think that between the younger guys getting their feet wet, and the older guys getting...old, they need to find a way to bust out. Having said that, they are tied for 2nd in the division behind a team that is a serious contender, and has started light out, but has shown signs of maybe coming back to the pack a bit. The Blues are starting to sputter as well (go figure). Expectations as they were going in, I'm not terribly worried just yet. Again, let's get into February and see where it's all at.

Yeah he is right at times, and this team definitely has flaws.

But it is always amazing to me how his negativity and overreaction changes over the course of the season.

Not too long ago he was saying they have to be over .500 in December or all hope was lost.

They are over .500 and in the middle of the playoff race and yet that is still not good enough. All hope is again lost.

In Jan and Feb his overreaction and negativity will shift to new things.

The reality is they are a flawed team. They are going to have some good wins and some really bad losses. They are going to make the playoffs. And then who knows what will happen. I do not think anyone is expecting another cup this year. But I definitely wouldn't put it past them. They could get hot at the right time and we all know they know how to win in crunch time. So just relax and see what happens.

Are you mixing that randomness with a little luck, some luck or mostly luck?
