I find it very comforting in this crazy world that I can turn on the Score at 2 am on Christmas Eve night/Christmas morning and hear Les in studio. Make fun of his peculiarities all you want but Les is a professional who loves what he does and appreciates those who listen.

Les, I know you check in once in a while and I say this with all sincerity: the world is a better place because of you.

I agree GD. I listen a lot of times around 11-midnight, and sometimes you can get a whole 30 mins without any commercials. especially enjoy the 430-5am segment when Mark Grote is in and it's essentially 2 Grobber's.

Grobber is the only unscripted show, who lets callers call in and talk. Love the ridiculous calls.

I would bet he will be there for NYE as well.

How old is Les? I tried to look on line but the first page+ of a google search are stories of him shitting in the studio.

It's sad to think that, with the next three holiday eves being on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this may be the last time to hear Les on a holiday.

2016 is a leap year so next year Christmas and New Years Eve are on Saturday.

Les has to be in his early 60's. I went to high school with his son.

Hopefully that mean's the "holiday" is on Monday rather than Friday.

Because he doesn't hit the snooze button.

The way Les seems to have transformed from being "the human sports encyclopedia" to a gaffe machine at this stage of his career is a bit pathetic however. I don't think it makes for a good listen, even if it's during overnight hours. I would rather listen to nationally syndicated sports programming overnight than Les at this point.

Exactly. I used to be a Les fan, then I came to my senses. Its an awful awful show full of gaffes, bad cliches and jokes, and lets not forget the casting of Home Alone show. Ye gads. I would love to hear Scott Ferrall in the evening.

Then go stream it somewhere, which you can do. If the Score dropped Les, there would be no local alternative in overnights, and clearly they feel this is a service worth providing.

Could be worse. Steve Somers is still on the air.

Somers is Grobber with a poet's heart. I wonder whether every major market has an overnight host who has poor hygiene and makes no sense. You probably hit diminishing returns pretty hard at the Washington/Philadelphia level.

That right there sums up Les.

Grobber is the only one still doing a sports talk show similar to those that began when the Score was first conceived. I am rarely listening to the radio when Les is broadcasting, but when I am in the car driving home late, I still enjoy his show. He does have an impressive recall.

Be that as it may, he still makes for a more interesting and welcoming overnight than anyone else at that station would. How would you program the daypart?

I met Les at a Sox game and he's as nice and genuine of a person that you'll meet. I hope he stays at it as long as he wants.
