JORR, you need to make the populous here smarter and better drinkers.

 I don't even drink vodka. I just know that Kirkland stuff isn't Grey Goose. If you like it, drink it, but don't repeat bullshit Internet rumors started by Costco itself. Costco has a huge Internet presence. I've related the story about how they had "customers" try to rebut my wife's review of their crappy Kirkland fruitcake. Costco lets the Grey Goose rumor get spread around out there without ever confirming or denying it.

I can tell. Because if you did, you would know that premium vodka is a complete and utter ruse.

I never said it wasn't. It's certainly not like a Bourbon or a Scotch where the differences are obvious. But as I said, I don't drink vodka. I'm certain there are regular vodka drinkers who would argue with you about the qualities of premium vodka. Be that as it may, all I'm saying is that Kirkland is not Grey Goose.

Says the guy who doesnt drink Vodka. You have no idea. Your just talking out your ass again.

Happy New Year!

I googled "Is Kirkland Vodka Grey Goose?"

From the first response, fwiw:

As with many of Costco’s house brand spirits, the Kirkland Signature European Vodka has a bit of mystique built up around it. In fact, you’ll find countless posts online speculating that it is actually just a rebadged Grey Goose. These posts are usually followed by some asshole claiming that they can taste a distinct difference between Grey Goose and Kirkland Signature Vodka. As is often the case on the internet, everyone involved is an idiot. Kirkland Signature European Vodka is NOT Grey Goose. It’s made from french wheat in the Cognac region of France and diluted with spring water from the Massif Mountains artesian wells. But so are many other french vodkas. The Cognac region is well known for being a hub of distilleries in France, and I like to imagine the Grey Goose legend was a clever viral marketing ploy by Costco to drum up sales.

I googled "rogers park bryan" and the first response said you would sleep in my house for $30 a night.

You can find dozens of taste comparisons and reviews by Vodka tasters and experts who claim the Kirkland Signature Vodka is as good or better than Grey Goose and that it tastes exactly the same. I'm no expert like these guys, but as a long time Vodka guy I can tell you that It's damn good and it is difficult to taste any difference between the two.

I've seen that taste test before 'Crest. There are many more. I'm drinking a glass of this on the rocks right now.

I was running a nightclub when Grey Goose came out.

It's a marvel of marketing. And Ketel One is better than Kirkland and Grey Goose.

You seem to be missing my point, which is simply that Kirkland is not Grey Goose.

Holy back-pedal, Batman. You've gone from saying that Kirkland Vodka = Grey Goose to now saying they just taste the same.

Hardee's and Carl's Jr. are both CKE restaurants. They are operated by the same entity and serve the same shitty food. This isn't really hard to understand. Kirkland vodka is not the same as Grey Goose. I'm not sure why anyone besides people associated with Costco would keep obstinately insisting that it is.

Also not as good as Kirkland:

Thank God we have a discount retailer to make the world's finest spirits! I remember back in the early 90s we all had to make do with rotgut vodka.

How much was that champagne that was sprayed all over a certain locker room at Minute Maid Park some years back?

I would go with that for obvious reasons.

I dont doubt they taste similar.

I dont even care. I do find the Corporation spreads rumor thing interesting, though.

Hey it clearly says "D.O.C." right there on the label!

That means it's as good as the best "(insert wine I don't drink here)" dammit!

I've seen blind taste tests where people thought Wolfschmidt vodka run through a Brita filter several times was as good--or at least as smooth-- as Grey Goose and other high-end brands.

I am reminded of Mike North stating that Poland Springs water was just two Polacks filling bottles from a tap in their basement.

Again, I'm not going to argue with regular vodka drinkers about what they taste, but I would say that when you're pouring all kinds of flavored mixers over the booze as is most often the case with vodka, I'm not sure how much a premium brand really matters. It's a different story with a whisk(e)y where it's most often taken straight, rocks, or maybe with a splash of water.

My basic go-to drink is a classic highball, Scotch & soda, but I'm loathe to pour soda water over something like The Macallan. It just shouldn't be done. I've been in bars recently that don't carry anything but top shelf premium single malts. Where's the Johnnie Black? Where's the Cutty or J&B? I've gotten the side-eye from bartenders who didn't want to give me my fuckin' highball. Hey man, tell whoever is running the program to stock some rotgut blended Scotch.

Anyway, at the bar I run I stock Hank Birdwell's vodka and I've gotten a few grumbles from the vodka guys. Luckily, one of the club members had a big party up there and brought in several handles of Kirkland. So now these motherfuckers can enjoy discounted Grey Goose.
