I think you can safely add Indy to that list.

Did I see right that Shannahan is getting a second interview in Miami?

I don't think he can chill...Siri will just piss him off:

Tom Coughlin wrote:
Two weeks ago I’m trying to get to a roller hockey game that my grandson is playing in, so Marc Ross [the Giants’ director of college scouting] had showed me how to talk to this phone,” Coughlin said. “I don’t trust the lady in GPS, I don’t trust her, because they don’t send you the right way. I hit the button and I go ‘Park Ridge, New Jersey.’ And she comes back on, she’s giving me directions. So now I figure out where I am. I hit the thing and I said, ‘Thank you very much, I know exactly where I am now.’ And she comes back and says, ‘You don’t have to thank me.’ I swear to God that’s what she said. And then I couldn’t get her to shut up. Every turn. ‘Take a right here.’ I know where I am. I know where I am. I’m a block away from my house and she’s telling me where to go. I said, ‘I know where I’m going.’

It was Coughlin's time, but Reese deserved the boot even more.

i honestly think the giants are a team that can be turned around quickly in the short-term. They have the weapons to score points. They have to significantly upgrade the pass rush and the linebacking corps. i don't think the DB's are that bad, but when the line can get ZERO pass rush your DB's are gonna have problems.

It'll be interesting if Gase wants to go work with Eli Manning after having understudied with his older brother for a couple of years.

If San Fran were smart, and no one is saying they are, they would promote internally and name Eric Mangini as they're next HC.

As I said before, he is a Belichik "Wunderkind" on the defensive side, though he knows offense as well.

No one does well in Cleveland, and Mangini's record at the Jets wasn't terrible. He had two winning seasons out of three.

Florio brought up an interesting name and was wondering why he wasn't getting any mentions: David Shula. OC for Carolina.

Most confusing extension since the Chargers ended up keeping Norv an extra two years. Irsay still on the coke I'd surmise.

That's what I first thought but Luck has been screwed up all year, so it is hard to judge an 8-8 season too harshly. I'm guessing it is a short extension with some cheap buyouts.

I guess if I squinted I could see that logic, and although Pagano clearly wasn't a very good coach the previous two years they kept him around then so it's harder to hold this season against him. Then I realize that Houston won their pathetic division playing even more backup QBs than Indianapolis and Grigson and Pagano hated each other yet Irsay thinks it's a good idea to bring them both back, and I think coke is the only reasonable conclusion.

Yeah. And Irsay is having the press conference in a few minutes. That's weird. Hold it late at night? Why couldn't it wait unit the morning?

Oh, I never meant to dismiss the coke element of your thought process... I think that is a given.

I'll be so presumptious & answer his question.

He is horrible. On every level in football. There is nothing in the last 30 years of Shula football (incl. David) that is worth a damn. Nothing ground breaking, nothing particularly awe inducing, nothing at a high professional level.

He's living off of Newton's maturity, nothing more, nothing less. If anything, Malzahn has more to do with Cam's development than any of his pro coaches.

David Shula runs steakhouses after flaming out as the Bengals head coach.

Mike Shula is OC for Carolina

given all the drama in Indy i was very surprised that both of them kept their jobs. Hub's favorite son ryan grigson deserved to be fired based on the terrible trent richardson trade and all the horendous FA signings he made last off-season. it's a credit to pagano for going 8-8 with that mess... also credit goes to how awful the afc south is.

oofah. They may give up 50 points per game next year.

However, that might revitalize Kaepernick.

I'd say it would look like a return to the Pac 12, but the Rams, Seahawks, and Cardinals all have big boy defenses.
