On the Bears website, Pace wrote the following about Cutler according to the following article:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... jay-cutler

"I think Jay knows that we have extreme confidence in him. We're going to continue to build the offense around him."

Puke, puke.

However, Pace also made the following tweet in regards to the 2016 draft picks:

"It’s going to be best player available and if that’s a quarterback, that’s a quarterback.'

Let's hope, because that's the only way football hell for Bears fans will end.

Meh, what's he supposed to say?

'Yeah, let's be honest -Jays not that good, but until a better option appears, that's who we're going with'

I mean, it'd be more honest, but I hope people realize why it's not in his best interest to say things like this.

Well, at least he's thinking about life after Cutler. My take is he wouldn't have brought up drafting a QB specifically, unless that's the direction he's headed.

If Pace drafts a QB at #11, I'll take back all the nasty things I've ever said about him.

They only need a solid pass rusher, 3 to 5 linebackers, a safety, a cornerback, a right tackle, a center, and a quarterback. So... yeah!

Let the Goff era begin in Chicago. Maybe he'll be as good as another Cal QB. Move up or do whatever it takes to get him.

Trade Cutler to Cleveland and a 2nd rounder to pick at #2. It would be the ultimate Schadenfreude for Bears fans!

Hard for Pace to screw this one up. Best available player that isn't injured.

If I trusted Pace I'd be all on board with that. I just don't think he'd be using that pick well.
maybe I'm down on Pace too soon. I just don't dig that our 1st rounder can't hit the field.

This thread is ridiculous, For Cleveland to take Cutty we would have to give up our first round pick..nobody is taking Jay and his 16.5 million salary unless we toss in a couple draft picks..just have to flush this turd and take the cap hit.

Jay is not going anywhere. They have no other options. Hopefully, they will wake up and realize they have to draft a QB.

312, do you honestly think they would draft a QB and just throw him in there from game 1?

And here's your FA QB's. Enjoy.

Cousins is a guy I would like but there is no way the Skins are letting him walk.

Why is it ridiculous?

Cleveland likes taking our reject QBs and paying them a lot of money. Look at McGowan!

I would find it hard to believe that the bear could not find some trade partner.

Im Ready to see Fales, bring in Osweiler, Cousins, Fitz ..whoever..draft a guy ... If Jay is as valuable as you say than Why can't we find a team to take him? They tried last year and will try this year..why no takers?

Yeah, well McCown is making about 24% of Cutlers salary..who's the real sucker?

I'm assuming the price may be too high -in both contract, and what the Bears want in return. I do think the Bears have to get value back in a trade for Cutler tho, so its a tough situation to some degree.

I don't think Jay is valuable. I don't like the guy. I'd love to get rid of him. But he makes too much money and there's no way Fox is going to throw a rookie in there and watch him go through his growing pains. I'm resigned to the fact that he's staying.

Value for the guy that was outperformed by free agent signing Ryan Fitzpatrick? Good luck.

Quotes like this epitomize the coddling given to Cutler over the years. No need to say "extreme" confidence. Heck, how many QBs other than Brady or Rodgers would someone have extreme confidence in, and for those guys a coach or GM probably wouldn't even state the obvious.
