right out the shoot, first caller points out Jimmy's minutes are similar to last season. Dan equivocates and then states that there is a trade coming (what?!) that will change the minutes load for the players...

Saved me making a call.

I don't think Dan said the inevitable trade would change minutes. He said it'd change the look of the rotation. He mentioned it's a good thing Doug and Bobby are getting minutes, even though it took an injury to Joakim for Bobby to get any minutes. Dan couldn't answer why the offense looks the same or why guys like Jimmy, Pau, and Derrick, are all playing the same amount of minutes as they did last year.

Maybe Jamal Crawford wouldn't have put the Bulls over the Heat in the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals, but anybody would have been better than that corpse they started at SG.

In the beginning of the season it was apparent that Hoiberg was on some sort of minutes reduction plan. Pau Rose and Noah especially. The minutes have been increased lately. Hoiberg realized that he has to win games and reducing minutes for the sake of reducing minutes is not a good thing. Too much of it and you will get a steady diet of Etwaun Moore. You will also get too much Mirotic. Who wants that at this stage of the game?

Gasol is back to playing entire quarters as well.

I can only guess that Dan would say "it's not even that" and it was more about Thibs being a 'lunatic' they had. to. get. out. of. the. building. Even Gar Forman admitted that Fred wasn't brought in to help the offense. It was always about having a better employee.

I think their offense has looked a little different though. I don't see the dribble handoff. Nor has there been much standing around with Rose or Butler taking a shot in the last 5 sec. The second unit really does a better job of running the offense. There is far more movement. Sunday was iso Butler and it worked but that is not really a recipe for success going forward.

Mitch is brokering a Super Bowl week dinner with B&B (et al) and Jim Tomsula. This is not a bit.

dan's buddies at the gym must be politely laughing at the tomsula jokes still for him to be referenced 24 hours after he stopped being relevant in the sports world

That last caller was pretty good, though. I wish Brandmeier would get his ass back on the air.

Are these two separate thoughts, or was Mr. Wisconsin Border a Johnny B caller?

Kurt Thomas was the guy that could have put us over the Heat. Unfortunately Thibs didn't realize it til Game 5

Man, I'm going to miss Terry when he retires.

He just turned Dan's recommendation to go see the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh into "Andy's War Hole" as a bar he would visit.

God love him.

Separate thoughts. Not running on much sleep over here, DT. Cut me some slack.

What trade is coming? Did he provide more information? There's been lots of rumors about Sacramento/Chicago that have been all over the internet, but I can't imagine any trade that reduces Jimmy Butler's minutes by much, if any.

I caught the tail end on the way home. Dan told a thrilling story about how he had to scoop his driveway because his family was mad at him for not doing it sooner. The man is a hero.

He was amazed that by putting ice melt on the driveway, it broke up the ice into sheets. He then labored for TWO HOURS to scoop the pieces of ice and CARRY them to the yard rather than just shoveling them off. After awhile, he learned that he could also use the shovel to break up the ice into pieces, too, and then shovel it off.

Despite the fact that all men have experienced this phenomenon before and is a weekly routine in the winter, I'm pretty sure he was just describing what he watched his laid off landscapers do while he took notes.

I believe Dan has admitted to never having mowed a lawn in his life. Good life.

For once, I think Boers felt a little bad for Dan, as Dan tried to finish the story and add some sort of relevant ending. He failed.

My house faces north, so this shit is a weekly occurrence for me when we enter the deep freeze. Tad is right. It felt really Leery-esque.

i live out in the country and my issue is not ice, its the snow drifts. my snow fence failed miserably last year and i at times had 3' piles of snow neatly compressed and compacted making shoveling/snowblowing and absolute nightmare.
