Wow. He only got 2 years. Nobody saw this coming. They must have their guy lined up. It's probably a big name.

Wow.

"“After careful consideration, we informed Lovie that we have decided to make a change. I want to thank Lovie for his hard work and dedication to the Buccaneers during his time here. This decision was difficult on a variety of levels. I am disappointed that we were not more successful these past few seasons, but we are committed to doing what is necessary to give our fans the winning team they deserve. As we move forward, General Manager Jason Licht will oversee the process for finding our next head coach.” - Statement from Buccaneers Co-Chairman Joel Glazer

This league is quick to dismiss you if you can't make the playoffs.

Wasn't he doing well with Winston?

Please hire Chip. I can't wait to see the dynamic between he and Winston.

Hm, Lovie missed the playoffs three years in a row and the Bears went out of their way to fire everyone except him. Maybe the Bears aren't really in the NFL and that's been their problem all along.

Yeah. They were doing well for a stretch. I think they were like 5-5 at one point and dropped like 5 out of their last 6 or something like that.

Still, TB couldn't have expected to make the playoffs with a rookie QB. But their owner is kind of nuts.

Wow, genuinely surprising. I would bet hard-earned $$$ that the Bears loss sent them over the edge.

Seems really weird. They basically gave him 1 year. Something must have happened behind the scenes.

I wouldn't trust a damn thing Whitlock reports...he makes Julie DiCaro seem like a good journalist.

Lotta talent on that roster, its the best job in the NFL right now.

I'm surprised they didn't let him go 6-10 next year and can him..he's not a good coach..its a wise move to fire him now, This team had some BAD losses.

Don't cry too hard for him. I'm assume he signed a 4 years deal. So they owe him 8-10 million. He got 5 million from the Bears for doing nothing for one year. Pretty good.

Well, if their OC gets the head coaching job then Whitlock would be right. Who is their OC?

At least Movie was consistent, 2 years in Tampa and 2 offensive coordinators.

Watching NFL Network. A beat writer for TB is on and said he shocked. He said their OC might get the gig. That he's been interviewed for other jobs the last few years.

One Buc player is tweeting. He's pissed.

Before Lovie, they gave their last coach only 2 years.

Well their last coach was a fucking clown show who made his biggest splash in the league by having his defense blow up the victory formation. He is a perfect fit for dickbag urban meyer's Ohio State staff. I think Lovie deserved more of a chance. He took a garbage team and had and average team this year that seemed to be improving.

Yeah his first one damn near died in the preseason. Technically I believe that he had 3.

I wonder if he'll now be interviewed for the open jobs. If I were him, I'd sit out a year and collect from the Bucs.

I was thinking at first this would be his last HC job. But I'll bet a lot of people think he got a raw deal on this one. He'll probably get one more shot. Certainly he can be a DC if he wants. But I think Lovie's pride won't allow that. It will probably be HC or nothing for him. He probably doesn't want to be anything less at this point. It's rare that guys who have been a head coach for 10 plus years come back for a lessor position. He'll retire if he doesn't get another head coaching shot.

If I were the Giants I would be on the phone right now with Lovie.

I don't see another HC job for love, unless he goes to college ball.
