If you're judging by ratings, then Danny Boy is in real trouble. His pay relative to his performance in his time slot is poor. M&H would be their best hosts based upon the measured results. Spiegs and Goff would be above B&B if winning your time slot is the metric we use.

Wrong.

You did see the ratings where they lost October, lost November, and tied December right? M&H get a 3.6 rating and B&B get a 1.8 rating. When half of your morning drive audience moves to another station for the afternoon drive, you have a problem with your afternoon show. Especially when your highest paid host is on that afternoon show.

As a return on investment, B&B's salary doesn't seem to paying off for 670.

How much clam chowder and Boston cream donuts would it take for Spiegel to stay in Boston?

Asking for a friend.

Scorehead would say $1,000 worth and then not pay it.

PittMike is a fine man. There is no doubt that he would pay up, if he lost a bet.

kids who were fucking around in a bedroom while the parent stood outside and listened for 10 minutes before knocking aren't fooling anyone.

Any change in the shows? Sounds like Leary put on his best shoes for the new boss in town? Spiegs shouldnt be practicing for his other job....? Couldnt imagine if a new CEO came in to a real estate company I was working at and everyone told the new guy , I was in Arizona working on an investment I bought for myself. Dont care if I took my own time off and if you think it is OK, then you never worked for someone who does care.

Guessing the Idiot calls on B&B are down now and Matty isnt turning down the volume on callers so Danny can yell over them? Alwways makes radio guys look like such pussies when they do that or fall back to the "are we going to have a conversation?" crap.

Say what you want. Someones head is rolling and I can only imagine the big money $$$ afternoon assholes with the declining ratings have to be front and certain.

Just in time for a Mac,Kap and Finji!

M&H might even have a little more pep in the step, but that 3 AM thing has to be killing mully.

The declining revenues are a key concern. I spoke with a guy who used to be in the sales department and he said the WXRT/WSCR dynamic didn't make much sense from a sales rep standpoint. He scoffed at the notion that the two were "paired" while the other stations weren't. I also spoke with a woman who brokers national Ad buys and she said that business is good but putting the right Ads with the right audience was the key component to her success.

I guess you could trim a salary or two here or there but CBS Chicago revenues were over $130M, so shaving a half-mil on a contract or going with recession raises doesn't mean that much if the station loses another $3.5M in revenue (as has been the trend).

I know we like to think of our little slice of CBS-Chicago as being the most relevant but the new bosses are looking a different and bigger picture. Sports talk radio as a segment is relatively flat in its listeners, so the emphasis has to be on getting more revenue from the same. I don't know what CBS paid for the Cubs but that could be the cash cow that Zim was banking on before someone figured that revenue performance could be better.

I don't think so either. You're dealing with two stations whose Time Spent Listening is sky-high. Why not just buy one or the other?

The point on declining revenues is one that is dead on. Especially when daily fantasy buys were such a large part of 2015 and are not likely to be in their future.

Political ad buys will probably help 2016, but with gerrymandering and Illinois/Indiana basically already colored blue/red, how much buying will you see for major races given the lack of competitiveness. If you're in Ohio, 2016 is a gold mine. Not so in Chicago.
