Like I said, I don't know anything about him. But there are plenty of Cub fans from Homewood and Da Heights.

Anyway, I know you were taking a shot, but I certainly wasn't wrong when I said Mac, North, and bernstein are all Cub fans.

You get no credit for Mac. He's an admitted Cub fan.

The other two are solid theories but unconfirmed

Bernstein, I could see choosing to say he likes the Sox for street cred at Duke but what the hell would be North's motivation to lie?

Motivation? I don't know. He didn't want to back no loser anymore?

And Mac is all over the place. Many here will insist he's Sox fan. Here's how I judge. Do I believe a guy would rather see the Cubs win a World Series than the Sox. If so, he's a Cub fan. He sure isn't a Sox fan.

As a Monty Python fan, I don't want a Monty Python fan broadcasting Sox games.

No. I don't think a legitimate fan can really switch. This is brainwashing that takes place at an early age. Guys who switch weren't hardcore fans to begin with. I think North was always a Cub fan and always will be. I couldn't tell you why he pretended to be a Sox fan. Knowing him, most likely because he thought he had a shot to get the Sox booth one day.

I think Jerry Reinsdorf may have misunderstood the suggestion made to him by Dan Bernstein for who to replace him with.

I knew I shouldnt have said legit

What I meant was North deciding to stop loving the Cubs and decided to like the Sox as opposed to your theory of Bernstein pretending.

I actually listen to what these guys say. You can wear a Sox cap and claim to be a Sox fan but when it's obvious your cock is getting hard when you're discussing Joe Maddon and Kris Bryant, I think it's safe to say you're a Cubs fan.

Do you listen to the shows? Let me ask you- do you think Mac, North, and bernstein will be happier if the Cubs win the World Series this season or if the Sox do?

I don't think Bernstein is a fan of the Chicago Cubs; I think he is a fan of Theo Epstein's Cubs.

I know nothing about this guy. I will say, this could have gone way worse. He's an experienced broadcaster, not a former player and I'm really glad that's what we're looking at.

Hawk as a PBP is dreadful. I love him, but I can't stand him. He will be the end of an era and there are things about him I will miss, but it's certainly time for him to hang it up.

Agree 100%. Its not really a Sox move. I mean, bigfan and INQUISITOR will tell us it IS a Sox move because its cheap, but the Soxiest move would have been to have Mike Huff or some other former obscure White Sock pair up with Stone. This guy seems to have his own style, a bit of a sense of humor, and he embraces advanced metrics. I'm looking forward to hearing him.

The story in the link that spmack posted is outstanding.

What if he just turns out to be Sox Len Kasper (team sycophant couched in being smart and "cool")?

They could have promoted Farmeo to TV. End of days.

That's what I thought they should have done. Farmio's sparse play-by-play is better suited for television. If you're finally going to hire the first true broadcaster since John Rooney, put that guy on the radio.

I would not be surprised to see Benetti replace Ed Farmer in the next 3 years. DJ went from TV to radio, if you remember.

A Sox move would have been to move Farmio into the TV booth. I'm very very very very very glad that did not happen.

Unlike most people, I don't hate Len Kasper. I think he's fine. Chip Caray.....Sweet Jesus that was awful!

You can already hear the difference in Stoney. End of game, Jason said "it was a pleasure, Stoney" and Steve said "it certainly was".

Just give him a few months and he will be silent in games the Sox are losing and he will bitch constantly about umpiring.

I think it's weird that an old guy like Hawk want's to do the road games. You would think he would not want to travel. I think he just hates Chicago.
