Hawks puzzle me. Can look so good then so bad. Baer looks like a hell of a player. Need to keep him in lineup and put Woodchuck on the bench where he spends most of the game anyway. Uhl needs to step up and be a player. Fran blew the Iowa State game they had time outs dammit !!!!

#11 Iowa State taking it to #3 Oklahoma in a big way early (as an 8 pt road dog). Two of the best offensive teams in the country.

Good win. Glad it happened though.

Purdue needed to learn a lesson like that.

After the Rose Bowl, I nearly turned that one off. Purdue had no answer for the trap Iowa threw at them. Plus 50 pts in the second half against the 'best defense in the Big Ten' was surprising.

They just fell apart. They still are trying to integrate new moving parts.

Good week for Iowa basketball. A very good senior laden team.

Uthoff has really elevated his game to be the lead dog. Really surprised to see Gesell and Clemmons play so well in the back court.

Kansas-Oklahoma, 1 v. 2 coming up. I'm pumped. The o/u is only 159. Wouldn't surprise me if they hit 190.

103-102 OK up in 3OT. Nothing like OT to bail one out of a bad over bet.  :-o

That Kansas defender gave no room and reached over on that last inbound play.

If in your earlier post the o/u was 159 why did you need to be bailed out? Was it under in regulation?

Yeah they were on pace midway through the 2nd half and then the shooting went cold. Watching Iowa State-Texas Tech on ESPNU and completely forgot that Tubby Smith ended up at TTech. They look pretty good, actually.

Just saw the IU and OSU score from today.

Did IU just play really well or is OSU that bad this year?

They've recovered nicely since losing to Augustana of South Dakota (!). Even aside from the Mich St sweep they have some great wins: Wich St, Marquette, etc. They had Iowa State beat too.

If they just want to go ahead and win out the rest of the regular season that would be alright by me.

Pretty impressive.

The fact that they have played together for so long helps a lot too. This becomes less of an advantage towards the end of the season though but Iowa is currently the best team in the Big Ten.

Someone pointed out that the Augustana game actually helped them. Most teams scheduled crappy D3 teams for exhibition and they were playing the second ranked team in D2. It probably gave Fran a chance to get their attention a bit and refocused the team.

MSUx2, Shockers (though they were short people), Marquette and Purdue thus far. Florida State should be a top 60 RPI when all said and done too.

Agreed - with the seniors playing big minutes and starting to get more contribution from the bench, they will be a force. The one thing that normally McCaffrey teams aren't is aggressive and this team is willing to lay out for loose balls.

I really thought Iowa was going to be meh this year. They have become shockingly good. But they have more personalities than Sybill. They could lose the next four games and it would not shock me at all. Time will tell. Tomorrow at home against Michigan will be a key to see if they can keep it going. Sure looks good right now.

That's a great bet. With Duke, KY, Kansas down a 2nd tier champ is coming. Miami is 28-1 on Bovada.

Even if Iowa loses at Maryland Thursday the are still the best team in the Big 10. And one of the top ten teams in the country. No question about it.

That was a quality ballgame. Maryland lived through a cold stretch to win. That gym is a tough place for opponents.
