Well that makes it all better.

What's your overall point though? That Brady, and to a much lesser degree Ben, have had more playoff success than Rodgers? That's just objectively true. Nothing really to argue about, which isn't your style.
I made the point in my first post: "Does Aaron Rodgers start to get the label of "Can't get it done in the playoffs" too?"

It's more about the unfair treatment of Manning, unless we are willing to do the same to Rodgers.

This becomes even more accurate if Rodgers fails to play in two more Super Bowls, or three if Peyton throws wounded ducks to dominate the Patriots this weekend.

The talent around them and the fact Rodgers hasn't been the primary reason his team lost is why Rodgers shouldn't get the same criticism.

There's nuance to "Can't get it done" statement.

Given the losses Rodgers can't get it done I guess.

But Manning was why Colts couldn't get it done. Rodgers was/is not why Packers can't.

Why do we credit his "talent on offense" for the regular season but we don't blame them for the postseason?

If you take out total Super Bowl appearances, which is fair since Rodgers has about half the service time Peyton does, Rodgers beats him in pretty much everything playoff-related. He's got better stats(traditional and advanced) across the board and a better record. Rodgers had gotten to the playoffs every year since his first year starting, is above .500 in them and has won a SB, and cumulatively has played excellently in the playoffs. You're trying really hard here to make a very poor point.

This is getting dangerously close to "It is true because I think it is true".

Because anyone who watched those games saw that the pressure of the moment got to Manning and he would turn the ball over.

If he is a better quarterback then Peyton Manning why do we blame MM for his losses?

There is so much inconsistency here. We put the blame on Manning for everything that happened in the playoffs, and yet we have a "better" quarterback who isn't blamed because the Packers didn't get blown out.

No blame for Rodgers! 261 yards and 2 touchdowns(one of which was a hail mary) absolves you of any blame!

What was your favorite Jeff Janis, Jared Abbrederis, James Jones, and Richard Rodgers moment before this past Sunday's game?

Why do you keep saying "we"? Who's we? Stop projecting. I'm defending Rodgers here. I'm not a Manning fan, and don't feel like wasting the words to defend him. Nor have I attacked him for failing in the playoffs. Your post didn't even attempt to rebut anything in my post.

I'm not projecting. There is a label on Manning that he failed to get it done. I asked if Rodgers gets the same label.

If your answer is "Manning doesn't deserve that label" then your services are no longer needed in this thread.

I don't think Rodgers or Manning deserve that label but many disagree.

Well, Rodgers is better across the board in the playoffs than Manning is/was. So that hurts your argument. You do realize that we judge QBs on more than just W-L right?

I don't know what the "doesn't get it done in the playoffs" label means if it isn't about wins and losses.

Are we honestly concerned that Manning had teams that got blown out more? Does Manning suddenly lose the label if he had the same record but his teams only lost by 10?

If he had the same record and he performed significantly better, it certainly helps his case.

The label was applied to Manning in the context of his rivalry with Brady. Russell Wilson has a chance to be Rodgers' version of Brady, I suppose. I don't think it's necessarily fair that Manning has that label, because it can only be used in comparing him to the greatest of all time. But he played well enough throughout his career to earn that expectation and pressure. Rodgers has too, but he doesn't have a clear cut same-age rival like Manning/Brady. SO no, unless Rodgers loses the next 4-5 straight playoff games, he won't ever be bombarded with that label like Manning has. The narrative has a lot to do with the context in which it was created.

Should we ask the same thing of Drew Brees and his 6-5 playoff record and 1 SB win?

That is dumb then. I'd argue that Mannings three Super Bowl appearances(and possibly 4) would be an example where he "got it done in the playoffs". If Rodgers ends his career with one then that matters.

If we do it with Manning we certainly should with him.

Gotta wait for Rodgers career to end. He's got 7-8 years left probably. I'd be very surprised if they dont make the super bowl in one of those years.

Also, one more thing to clear up here that I don't think I explained well enough before. I don't believe most people take the "cant get it done in the playoffs" literally, or even close to it. Maybe Nas does. He won a Super Bowl and got two more. He was down by like three scores in an AFC title game to Brady and came back and won in '06. The label, from what I've understood, is simply used as a shortcut in any Brady v. Manning debate to say that Brady always has that over him. It's only used when talking about the 2, 3, or 4 greatest QBs to ever play the game. Rodgers simply being in that class of discussion is good enough for me, and I suspect most other GB fans. I doubt you and RFDC are hurting any feelings by pointing out he might only be the 4th or 5th best of all time instead of the best.

I think Manning gets a bad rap, but Mike McCarthy is probably a bigger albatross than any coach Manning has had. And yes, I'm including Mora and Caldwell in that assessment.

We've had plenty of Manning arguments on here and this is not really the tone that is given off.

It's more that Manning is an overrated regular season statistic stuffer.

It wouldn't really make sense to only do it in the context of a comparison with Brady because literally every quarterback in history "didn't get it done" when compared to Brady.

Well, now I think you're just wrong. Nobody is acting like Manning is a lousy QB. I don't know that I have ever heard him criticized without hearing Brady's name at the same time.

I think Manning gets a bad rap, but Mike McCarthy is probably a bigger albatross than any coach Manning has had. And yes, I'm including Mora and Caldwell in that assessment.

You should join RFDC in doing us all a favor by hiding your keyboard and not posting bad thoughts.

I've never seen a coach do more to singlehandedly cost his team a playoff game than Fat Mike against Seattle last year.

100% agreed. I couldn't believe he didn't turn around on the 2pt conversion and then dropped that onside kick.

Yep. McCarthy is fucking awful. RFDC will tell you he's still the best coach in the North though.

Still waiting to see anything from Zimmer to change my mind.

Will probably be waiting awhile.

That's because you're being lazy and waiting until it's patently obvious and you don't really have to form an opinion on the matter. Waiting for a Super Bowl win? Guess McCarthy is a better coach than Chico and Arians right now too!

Manning has had some awful performances in the playoffs, where the loss was clearly on him . Rodgers is never that bad.

I have an opinion on the matter. I see nothing in Zimmer that makes him the best coach in the division.

So help my lazy ass out, what has he done that is so great to make him the best coach in the division?

Good to finally see you acknowledge Brady is the GOAT.
I believe I said it was sealed after Brady won another ring last year.
