I liked Fouts.

He was always an ALCOA Fantastic Finish away from Voyagers!

Rice, Moss, and TO were better. Fitz is up there though.

What made him better than Fitz?

I don't think Fitzgerald is a slam dunk top 4. There are other guys in that conversation who could be argued as better...

Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Cris Carter, Devin Hester, David Terrell, etc.

Fitz isn't done, but currently, TO beats him in basically every significant statistical category. Touchdowns isn't even close. It's like TO 160, Fitz 95. Again, Fitz isn't done yet, though.

yeah I was surprised he is ahead by so many.

Maybe I am swayed because I never really liked TO.

If I had a big game to play in, I think I would rather roll with Fitz than TO.

But yeah by stats gotta say TO is the better WR.

I'd probably take Fitz in one game, as he's more consistent and has better hands. I don't like TO, either... the one area I would give him an edge physically, though, is he was more of a deep threat. His average yards per catch is higher, but it does look like Fitz will well surpass him in terms of catches, though, so Fitz is probably a better possession receiver.

If memory serves T.O. was pretty money in big games. Had a great Super Bowl and had that catch to beat the Packers on the last play

TO was awesome. I'd take him over Moss. Like RPB mentioned, he showed up in big games, made his teams better(although he wore out his welcome quickly), and is one of the toughest players I've ever seen play. He wasn't supposed to have a chance to play in that SB. If McNabb had half the heart TO had, Philly would have beaten the Patriots in that game.

Longevity matters if we are talking careers, but if we are also just going off best guy we've ever seen, Antonio Brown has to be in the conversation now too.

Difficult to rank WRs because they're so dependent on the QB. Would Fitz have double the production if he hadn't been stuck with trash in between Warner and Palmer?

Part of being a great receiver is forcing yourself out of situations with bad QB's via holdouts and trade demands

Fitzgerald played with some awful quarterbacks. That really hurt his numbers. Give him a decent QB for most of his career and his numbers would be even better.

Considering he's only 27 (I think), I don't think he's there yet, but if he maintains his production, he's gonna have some outstanding numbers.

Right, career wise he's not there right now, and probably won't get there. But if we remove longevity and just talk about the best WR's we've ever watched, he's already in the top 5, IMO. I think he probably has the most impact that any non-QB does on the game right now.

Even though his teams haven't made a dent in the playoffs I would say Megatron is a peg higher on my list than TO... Owens was mega talented, but also a constant fucking headache in the locker room. 1. Rice 2. Moss 3. Johnson 4. Owens

Also lets not forget about Julio Jones if we're talking about today's best. He may be the most physically gifted WR in the NFL.
