The Knicks have fired Derek Fisher less than 2 seasons into his tenure as a first-time coach http://nyti.ms/20Ri79U

If anyone could whip Marshmelo into shape, Tom Thibodeau is the guy.

or.....Phil fgured the best way to get rid of Melo is to have Thibbs beat him down that he wants to leave.

So pay a guy 120 whatever million for six years and then hire a guy to make him leave?

Fisher is getting a raw deal here. That roster is complete garbage and he's actually improved the team this season. I would have given him probably another year. I'm surprised Phil fired his guy so soon.

Thibs can run a run a ton of stuff. He'll be fine.

Problem is you're not gonna like him. You're really not gonna like him.

The ladies in the front-office will be pining for the return of Isiah Thomas after Thibs strolls though there.

I was surprised Phil wanted Melo back as well, but I cant help thinking he signed him to trade him. Melo has an out 2018....Lopez is signed for 2018...and then the young cheap guys Phil drafted

His entire roster opens up after 2017. Melo, Lopez are the money....might even be too much money to trade, but even at around 25 mill, they would have cap money to burn.....

This is the experience of Phil and now Thibs. I am sure Thibs has made it clear he will not be locked in for charity work, bar mitzvahs, hospital openings and being nice to the owners friends and kids/grandkids as part of the job.

Fisher is going to get paid but he did get a raw deal. I couldn't imagine Phil wanting to hire Thibs or Thibs taking a job like that. Walton definitely makes the most sense but I don't think it can happen mid season.

Fisher is probably a lock to take over in LA once they shitcan Byron Scott.

I can see Thibs in Los Angeles if Phil gets LUUUUUUUUUUUUKE over the summer. Thibs would fit in with the atavistic, Buss-ridden Laker front office while not being a dope like Byron Scott.

This is actually a good fit for him. They have some talent. They are about two players away from being a 4 or 5 seed in the East. They need to find a solid point and improve their depth. They have cap space but Carmelo Anthony is breaking down.

It was a mistake for Phil Jackson to resign him.

Sounds like he was banging players wives too... Shitty coach and a dumb guy.. You get your ass beat by Matt Barnes n lose the locker room. He never should have been hired in the first place..Phil is an idiot as a GM.
