Gonna be hard to keep following these Bulls when it's becoming obvious that we won't even make the playoffs. Tell me...is there ANY chance for us to acquire somebody for the 2nd half :?:

So glad Butler is out so we can see the awesomeness of Hoiball on display. You show them, Hoiberg. We all know what you're able to achieve without the inconvenience of a two way, 20+ ppg star on the floor. Jimmy "buckets" my ass. We need (hoi)ball movement instead.

Wilbon took Hoiberg to task on Silvy and Waddle today. Brutalized him.

I'm sure whatever it is Derrick Rose is doing is just fine by him though.

Screw Wilboun. Not fair to judge hoiball without a 35 year old three point specialist and a crippled defensive specialist on the floor. That's a potential five to ten game swing upward in the standings.

rose is a woman. you point out her flaws and she gets pissed and pouts and just sits there not doing anything helpful, but if you talk nicely about her she gets pissed and pouts and sits there not doing anything helpful

But Wilbon said the roster is just fine, because they did so well under Thibs last season...

Talent is the Bulls biggest problem right now. Rose and Gasol are the only 2 players from tonight's game that would crack
Cleveland's 9 man rotation. Hoiberg may not be good bit you're not winning games with that lineup. Words like "identity" are generic terms that gets thrown around when the talent sucks.

Butler doesn't make a 20 point difference. This team has more than enough talent not to get blown out. Rose has to play like a star and Hoiberg has to inspire someone.

“He’ll be a fit with our players and our team,” Forman said. “He was the right guy to maximize the potential of this basketball team.”

“A lot of coaches don’t walk into a roster that has championship potential in a city that we know,” Hoiberg said.

Taj Gobson, Mike Dunleavy, and Etwaun Moore are not NBA caliber starting players. Effort and all that is good but you win with talent in the NBA. Three of their top five guys are out. That's going to have an impact. Hoi berg is probably not the guy. Paxson should be fired but he probably won't because of Reinsdorf loyalty.

Thibs only lost 3 games in a row 6 times during his entire tenure here. Fred Auerbach has managed to do it 4 times in just half a season.

Being so right about this feels so wrong.

All things being equal, Thibodeau coaching this team and they'd be in a better position right now. If you want to argue how much better (you = ltg) we can... but the question is definitely how. Not if.

In the playoffs you win with talent. We've seen Bulls teams win with effort during the regular season for most of the last 12 years or so. This team has enough talent not to lose by 20. They lack the effort needed to win. At this rate I would be shocked if they make the playoffs. Noah's leadership is missed.

Something tells me Thibs will have his chance to coach a team with talent as bad as this in the very near future. We will see how well he does then.

This was not the team that I envisioned when the season began. This slide has coincided with injuries to Noah and now Butler. It's no coincidence.

Butler being out is what you asked for? He was stifling the Hoiberg offense with his crazy 48 minutes of isolation, no?

McDermott's defense was ATROCIOUS tonight. Maybe the worst it has been.

It's more than Effort. Taj Gibson gives effort. He isn't very good. Etwaun Moore gives effort. He isn't good either. They gave you twelve points between them tonight. It has happened a lot with them so it's not an aberration.

Terms like effort, identity, intensity are overused player and coachspeak. When you match the talent that they are putting out on a daily basis with that of playoff caliber teams they fall short.

I will reiterate this again. Rose and Gasol are the only two players from tonight's game that would Crack Cleveland's 9 man rotation. Gasol would be the only one to start.

There is a talent deficiency and the ghost of Red Auerbach isn't enough to compensate for that.

Also if Thibs were so good, why couldn't he will the Bulls to victory against the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012? They went out 4-1 after Rose went down That Philly team stunk and the Bulls were a #1 seed. Should have won if Thibs were that good.

Didn't want him benched just wanted him to stop hurting the offense. Prime example of a misquote.

We all know why the Bulls lost that series. The injury to Rose demoralized the entire team and they couldn't recover. That team wins the championship IMO if Rose stays healthy. They battled all year without him and had the best record in the league IIRC.

The Bulls won with DJ Augustine as their best scorer too. Why because of the energy and leadership from Noah and effort.

I keep hearing that they should be winning games in spite of the injuries. There hasn't been one person bring up injuries in conjunction with the current losing. There has been a lot "Thibs would have had them playing better". If that's the case then he would have found a way to beat a Philly team that was an 8th seed. They play 2/5s of their schedule without Rose and still were able to secure the 5th seed.

Also it's important to note that Thibs teams don't get demoralized. That has sort of been the spin with many of the posts. In fairness to you, you at least gave Hoiberg a chance

They never mentally recovered from the Rose injury. Even Thibs appeared to be rattled. They knew they weren't winning at that point.

I don't know how much it's Fred and how much it's a roster that doesn't fit a system that he runs. I know GarPax should be feeling the heat for a roster that does not match his system and YMCA assistant coaches for a rookie coach.
