I love him. He was a solid and dependable player. Bears will suck even more without him. I understand why they don't resign him but I'm going to miss him too.

Best running back for this team since Neal Anderson.

Here's hoping Langford is a little more Forte and a little less Brock Forsey.

I think the Bears will miss his versatility. I wish the system allowed for him to stay and them to keep him, but the numbers just don't work. You don't know what you've got until it's gone...

One of the stations is running a commercial based around something being more "meh", and of course, Doug-EP comes to mind. And now he posts!! Like having deja-vous all over again!!

Once he retires he'll be the first running back to accrue 10K yards rushing and zero broken tackles in a career. Pretty impressive.

Anderson was a little bit before my time, but was he better than Forte?

Similar player...Anderson had a little more power between the tackles where Forte was better bouncing outside.

Anderson's biggest problem was that he was the guy that replaced Walter Payton...I still don't feel like he gets the credit he deserves as a quality runner.

He was thinking replacing DeAngelo as insurance in case Bell's knee does not come back to form. I did tell him I thought Forte will start somewhere.

4 straight pro bowls, 3rd all time leading rusher...based on my age, I remember Anderson better than I do Payton.

And, as I said originally, Forte was the best since Anderson.

Forte is 38th all time in rushing. Looking at the guys from 20-29, which is where he'd be if he played full time for two more years, and the best post-30 season for any of them, and when they stopped playing

If he would be willing to come back for a 1-year deal, the Bears would be stupid not to consider bringing him back. But Forte will be a 3rd down back by the time 2017 rolls around.
